Please - here's a vote for a separate " IWU JV" board for those who would like to indulge.  I dont even know, and only minimally interested, when JV games even get played.  The schedules, results aren't posted anywhere.

Assuming this isn't tongue-in-cheek (which, I think it is) vote "no." I made one off-handed remark about a JV game, in which I praised both teams for great skill and effort. That's not a reason for a new board. That's like saying "let's start a board for coaches who prefer a motion offense and are cat owners." A bit to specific to be popular.

One could make the argument for a CCIW JV board, but I think most posters are happy if they stumble across a JV game a couple of times a year. Limited interest, again. I assume (again) that a lot of bb programs are like IWU's. They post a JV schedule as an after-thought. The games aren't streamed (unless it's played at a junior college with a communications program). A lot of times, a game will get cancelled. The officiating is laughable. etc. I may be the odd duck that keeps track of the JV schedule and tries to make the games.

I'm going to stop coming here if it doesn't become at least 38% JV talk.

My main question is when Grey's jacket comes off in a JV game relative to a varsity game.  Surely we have a large enough sample size to calibrate an expected toss ratio, which would include distance, velocity, and time of game.  We can then use this data point to determine whether he is or isn't feeling the intensity in a JV game.  This would get us away from the more qualitative eye test that Gregory is using to gage Mike Schauer's intensity level and give us more concrete data to work with.

I'd better go grab the d3jvadvancedstats.com domain before the landlord beats me to it...

Unfortunately he doesn't coach the JV team, so we will not be able to gather this data.

That's really a shame.  Huge missed opportunity.

That doesn't mean the jacket still can't come off though?

That would be far more fascinating -- a sportcoat heave from the second row of the stands by Grey Giovanine, Non-Coaching Spectator, during an Augie JV game.

I'm tempted to check with Dave Wrath to see if that's ever happened.

Gotta factor in a couple of other elements into the equation then:
- Less likely to get teed up if he is a spectator, so he has fewer guardrails on the need to maintain good manners
- We may see marginally less ownership/investment since he is not coaching, though it would be hard to parse this out from "look, it's just a JV game" since they could be perfectly correlated

Welcome back to the team Luke Anthony . . . suit up

GoPerry

Wheaton over MU 86-53

Wheaton all over the Big Blue in this one.  Tyson Cruickshank led the Thunder with 20 and 6 followed by Nyameye Adom's 17 pts.  Anujawon Spencer added 10 and 4 while freshman Andrew Williams contributed 10 pts with 7  boards.

Millikin was led by Cedric Mitchell and Michael Akinwumi with 10 pts each.

Yogao

Augie up 30-23 at the half including shooting 80% from the field (12-15) and 14 turnovers.  Carroll hasn't been able to take advantage scoring only 7 points off of those TOs.

iwu70

Great game, IWU over CC 95-91

Baltimore went off for 41.

The coming out of Luke Yoder, at 26, Wallen 20.

The TITANS made it interesting at the end after leading by 9 late.

A much-needed home win for IWU.

The CCIW run is going to be a rough, tough gauntlet.
