Does anyone know how the CCIW Tourney seeds match up in the semifinals?   Is it simply the winner of 4/5 to play #1, or in event of upset, does #1 get to play the lowest remaining seed?

Lowest remaining seed faces the 1, highest remaining seed faces the 2. Think of it like the NFL playoffs.

Thanks ..... I thought I had read that here on the boards earlier.  I had gone to the CCIW Tournament site and it had #1 playing winner 4/5 and
                            #2 playing winner 3/6.

Now that everyone and his brother has had a go at dumping on AndOne for his comments about Benedictine and St. Norbert, maybe it's time to trot out an old tried-and-true friend:

oh wait, I have not had my turn.  He is wrong of course!  If BenU and SNC were in the CCIW they could hold their own.  Year over year SNC has had good teams.  BenU would likely get some stronger recruits.  Yeah, I know they compete with the CCIW for recruits but being in one conference vs another might make a difference.

Besides, AndOne always says this about BenU after NCC loses AndOne AndTwo to BenU,too

OK, who had 4:47 in the first half for the Ron Rose jacket removal/not quite toss?

Did you see how, immediately after he started pulling it off, one of the student managers came out of nowhere and stepped onto the floor, and Giovanine tossed the sportcoat to him while barely looking in the kid's direction?

"OK, Mike, it says here on your résumé that you were a student manager for your college's men's basketball team. Tell me about that, and tell me how that prepared you for the kind of management job that you're seeking with us."

"Well, sir, I had the most important job out of all of the student managers on the team. My job was to catch the coach's sportcoat when he tossed it away during a game!"

Ah - the original comment misidentified Grey as Ron Rose.  For a minute there I thought  the jacket toss might have mutated into an infectious disease and started spreading to other coaches in the conference.  :D

Y'know, I didn't even notice that Pete had identified the coach in question as Ron Rose. At this point, I see "jacket toss" in a post, I don't even stop to think that, somewhere, somebody else on a college basketball sideline might be hurling a sportcoat. It's almost as though Grey Giovanine's got a patent on the maneuver.

Of course, he didn't invent it. When it comes to coaches flinging men's outer apparel, somebody before him had to have been the trailblazer. ;)

That was not a misidentification.  That's what I thought (mistakenly, apparently) made it worth posting. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh, I think it is definitely worth mentioning... it's just such an odd sighting that I'm sure you understand why everyone thought you were talking about Double-G.

I am sad, though, that it didn't happen at the Carver Center.

Can someone post the shot Aston Francis hit at IWU last Winter?

https://twitter.com/wheaton_thunder/status/1228918953600262145?s=21

Try this. It's a package deal with the Andrew Jahns putback from 2010 and the Adom shot from tonight

Wheaton beating IWU at the buzzer this many times is sure to give Ron Rose a complex one of these days.

3. Benedictine - 0.857 - 0.493 - LOST at MSOE, WONat Lakeland
4. SNC - 0.857 - 0.536 - WON v Beloit, WON at Grinnell
5. Eau Claire - 0.714 - 0.580 - WONv River Falls, WON at Whitewater
6. NCC - 0.810 - 0.523 - WON at Augustana, WON at Carroll
7. Augustana - 0.727 - 0.578 - LOST v NCC, WON v Carthage
8. Elmhurst - 0.818 - 0.526 - LOST at IWU, WON v Millikin

----------------------------------

La Crosse - 0.762 - 0.530 - WON v Stout, WON at Stevens Point
Oshkosh - 0.619 - 0.618 - WON at Stevens Point, WON v Stout

IWU - 0.667 - 0.557 - WON v Elmhurst, LOST at Wheaton
Wheaton IL - 0.619 - 0.546 - LOST at Carroll, WON v IWU

I wonder if La Crosse and Oshkosh will jump Augustana and Elmhurst. Stevens Point had a great chance to jump into the rankings with two home games against other Pool C contenders and they lost both.

I think this is very possible.

* Augustana lost to both teams (Oshkosh and La Crosse) - that could really big a big factor.  Also seems big that Oshkosh won at NCC, while Augie was swept by NCC.  I just don't think there is any way that this week, with the RRO added, Augustana is regionally ranked ahead of Oshkosh.

* Elmhurst beat Oshkosh - that could also be big.

I think Oshkosh is getting in this week, at #7.  Spot #8 could be Augustana, Elmhurst, or La Crosse.

I also think Benedictine could go from #3 to out.  That SOS is so bad.  Even with the win at NCC, I could see BU falling out.

8 Augustana (C)

Gents,
the regional rankings, as they do every year, will shake themselves out in the end. As long as NCC, SNC, and BU continue to stack wins the rankings they shall ascend!

That's not entirely true, actually. Depending on who plays who, someone like SNC or BU could drop in the regional rankings, even if they win, because their poor conference opponents with low SOS's, while another team could get a boast because they play a team with a high SOS and/or are regionally ranked.

Yeah ... this is a valid point, cardinalpride ... rankings start from scratch each week - everyone removed from the board and the slate wiped clean. Then all data is looked at again. When SOS is constantly changing, it adds in the element that a reason to rank Team A ahead of Team B one week could be null and void the next week even if both teams win two games each. Furthermore, Results versus Regionally Ranked Opponents (vRRO) is added in starting with Week 2's Regional Rankings and that tends to shake up the rankings quite a bit.

We have seen teams ranked #1 one week fall to #2 or #3 another week even though they have not lost. The data is constantly changing and thus it should be assumed rankings can change outside of just wins and losses.
Duly Noted!
BU didn't hold up it end! We'll see how SNC and NCC fare in this weeks rankings!

I think...

1 Platteville (A)
2 Wash U (C)
3 North Central (A)
4 St. Norbert (A)
5 Eau Claire (C)
6 Oshkosh (C)
7 La Crosse (C)
8 Augustana (C)
Thinking about this a little more, I think BU probably edges out Augie in spot #8 -- BU won at NCC, Augie was swept by NCC.  I think that will be the difference.

1 Platteville (A)
2 Wash U (C)
3 North Central (A)
4 St. Norbert (A)
5 Eau Claire (C)
6 Oshkosh (C)
7 La Crosse (C)
8 Benedictine (A)

A thought -- if NCC ends up as the only ranked CCIW team in the final two polls*, that would do a lot of damage to NCC's overall resume.  It would take away a bunch of potential RRO.  For example, based on what I have above, NCC would be 0-2 vs RRO...and that aint good.
