It was a sensational tournament this weekend. Culminating in a hard fought championship game ,between two teams who could very well do it all over again next year. The CCIW is fortunate to have some great coaches . Raridon, Schafer, Ron Rose, and John Baines. I beleaguered the coach at Carroll is a excellent coach as well. His team never quits no matter what. That's a good sign of things to come for Carroll.

Guys, I think we're back on Jacket Watch given the obvious omission here...
He's only coached in every CCIW tournament. Tough crowd if he's not considered a great coach.

Another obvious omission: there's a coach up in Kenosha who is not exactly chopped liver! ;)

The coach at Wheaton has a Final Four on his resume...

And the coach at North Park was COY three years ago.

I guess there are only great, brilliant coaches in the CCIW.   :)

Elmhurst is in the lower-left corner of the bracket, as the Bluejays will be traveling to Wooster to take on Lycoming (20-8) in the first round. Wooster hosts Grove City in the other game in that pod.

North Central gets to host a pod in the airplane hangar, as the Cardinals will entertain Adrian (17-11) in the opener on Friday night. The other game in that pod, which is in the lower-right corner of the bracket, is Transylvania versus defending national champion UW-Oshkosh.

So ... Battle of the Suburban Songbirds, Part IV, in Atlanta for the national title next month? ;)

Sounds good to me. I'm just thrilled I get to work three more games, though I bet my wife will probably be less so. :P

Not sure either will get out of the first weekend. Some tough games all over the bracket.

Interesting the Pool A rep has to travel yet the Pool C rep gets to host?

once into the NCAA's you have to assume every team is  worthy opponent.

The Pool A vs C thing is not a factor.  But Elmhurst was regionally ranked higher -- and those rankings determine seeding.

I don't get it.  It can't be geography, because EC and NCC are so close.

I obviously don't know if this is the answer, but the thought I had when I saw them on the road was that they didn't put in a bid to host. It's the only thing off the top of my head that makes sense.

It can also be because the committee needed an Ohio team to host to knit the bracket together. This has happened in the past.

Thank you for the insight.  Hopefully it is NOT because Elmhurst Admin didn't put in a request.  I would really feel terrible for the team if that was the case.

Also, most of Elmhurst fans are in the Tri-State area (IL/WI/IN) so traveling to OH would be a challenge.

I suspect they may have been looking to the second weekend.  If seeds hold, NCC can drive to NWU, but Elmhurst would have to fly.  That's the only real difference I can see as to why they'd be swapped.
