Thank you for the insight.  Hopefully it is NOT because Elmhurst Admin didn't put in a request.  I would really feel terrible for the team if that was the case.

Also, most of Elmhurst fans are in the Tri-State area (IL/WI/IN) so traveling to OH would be a challenge.

So are North Central's.

As to Pat's point, it doesn't make sense that Elmhurst would be sent to Wooster for the sake of geography instead of NCC, since NCC has traveled eastward to Timken Gym and enjoyed Wooster's hospitality in a past tournament. Heck, Wheaton's likely even farther from Wooster than NCC is, being more to the north, and Wheaton traveled to Timken and played the Scots there just last March.

My best guess is that EC and NCC were slotted this way in anticipation of the second weekend, because NCC can get to Nebraska Wesleyan within 500 miles and Elmhurst can't, and NWU is a real headache to match up geographically in a format like this year's.

Except that North Central can get to Nebraska Wesleyan, and Elmhurst cannot, so if the committee is keeping travel for the Sweet 16 in mind (and we believe they are), that's a factor.

It's OK. I figure that this is always a pretty chaotic weekend for you and Dave and Ryan and Gordon. We should cut you guys some slack.  ;)

Hey, maybe its because Naperville is within the 500 mile limit and Elmhurst is not.

CCIW ALUM

From what I heard Elmhurst did not put in a request to host because of problems with the floor.

We we're discussing the floor here.  We seem to recall a game late in the season where Elmhurst had a roof leak, had to stop the game temporarily, wait for the water to stop and wipe the floor.  Just speculating this might be the alleged floor problem?  If correct, a facilities problem not easily resolved.

Wouldn't that be a roof problem then?   ??? ::) I'm joking...no need to respond.

Good luck to EC and NCC this weekend.  I hope both programs make some noise for the CCIW.
