From that screenshot, I did not take that 6.8% to be basketball-specific.

Thanks Pat! 6.8% still seems high, and must consist almost entirely of assistant coaches, right?

Pat Coleman

I would assume that's what it's measuring but agree that it seems high, even when I factor in what I suspect are sports where women coach men more often, such as cross country/track, swimming and perhaps tennis.

Thanks Pat!  I apologize, I do not want my fact-checking to distract from the conversation.

Millikin's schedule is heavy v. the SLIAC with these match-ups making up 44% of MU's non-con games.
Over last four years Millikin at 4 and 4 against the SLIAC.  But this is only because of a disastrous four loss 2016/7 season v. the SLIAC.  No Greenville or Westminster, but MU did schedule Webster. GU, WU and WC look to be the top of the league for 20/21.

IWU's 2020-21 MBB schedule - https://www.iwuhoops.com/IWU%20MBB%2020-21%20Schedule.pdf

The other schools in the Jack Sikma HOF Tournament are: Hope, Ripon, UW-Oshkosh.

Thanks, Q.  Looks like one of the strongest schedules in a long long time.  I'm hoping to get out West for those games in the Portland area.

I hope all the CCIW friends and chatsters are safe and well.

The 2019-2020 regular season does feel like it ended a long, long time ago.

The Titans have a new MBB grad assistant - Justin Busch.  Justin played at Loras and has been on the coaching staff for the Duhawks the last 2 seasons, while teaching HS English.

Welcome, Justin!

(Justin replaces outgoing grad assistant Chris Davis, who did a great job. https://www.iwusports.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/coaches/chris-davis/1092.)

I can't confirm any of this, but hearing these names in the mix for the Augie job:

* Duffy Conroy, D1 La. Tech (asst)
* Kent Dernbach, UW-La Crosse
* Steve Schafer, Ben U Mesa
* Jim Thomas, Downers Grove North HS

There is a 5th name my source was not sure about.

Dernbach would be a phenomenal hire by Augustana.  He gets the job done on the recruiting trail to say the least.

Jim Thomas was part of Coach Giovanine's first recruiting class at Augustana, playing from 2000-to 2004.  He was a two time captain as a point guard, and was third team all CCIW his senior year.
