Just heard one of the original false positive IWU players got another negative result today...second negative since the false positive.

But was told no matter how many negatives he/she gets it will not negate the false positive.

Just crazy ass stuff, wow.

But it does exempt those with negative tests who came in contact with the false positive from quarantine, right?  I was told that by an Illinois-based coach yesterday.

No.  The positives (false positives) and the "close contact negatives" are all in COVID protocol right now.

Starting to better understand this...

Sounds like the issue is with local/state Health departments.  Not the CCIW.

There is ongoing dialogue between IWU and these Health officials.

Squaring the circle between what Ryan was told and what Bob was told, the distinction between local health officials and state officials could be significant. If it's local (i.e., the city of Bloomington or McLean County), this policy would only affect Illinois Wesleyan. If it's state, then a false-positive result could cascade to affect multiple players if it occurs at any of the CCIW's seven Illinois-based schools ... which makes me wonder what the situation is at the moment at Elmhurst.

I think it is county-based.

Back in the Fall I remember hearing someone talk about DuPage County being particularly "tough" on the guidelines and how that would impact the CCIW schools located in DuPage.

I cannot confirm, but I am guessing this might be a thing going on between IWU and and McLean County Health Department.  That's my best guess.

Safe to assume though the Chicago area counties would have even stricter guidelines in place.

All IWU MBB/WBB players who were put in COVID protocols due to false positives have been released.

The Titans are clear to practice.

Kudos to IWU's athletic dept and administration for fighting for these student-athletes!

Augie led most of the game, but between the eight-minute mark and the four-minute mark of the second half the Cardinals went on a 13-0 run -- sans Blaise Meredith, no less -- which wiped out a six-point Augie lead, and NCC never looked back.

Never close. Wheaton basically ran away and hid right from the get-go.

Blaise Meredith zero minutes in the 2nd half.  Any idea what happened?

Same with Tyson Cruickshank. It looks like he only played the first minute of the second half and then wasn't heard from.

In fact, I'll go a little further......No Matt Szuba for the entire game?

I didn't even see him on the bench. I have no idea why he was absent.

I can't speak to Cruickshank or Szuba, obviously. As for Blaise... let's just say he was heated coming off the floor at halftime.
