Johnny Torrence, a 6'4 guard from Lakeland, FL (Santa Fe Catholic) has deposited at North Park. He might be good enough to see some varsity action right away.

NPU has also received a deposit from another international player. This one's from Mizoram, India. He's a 6'2 guard named Lalhnehpuia Chhakchauk, and, yes, I spelled that correctly. He's likely headed for the Vikings JV team, which is a little disappointing. I like a challenge, and properly pronouncing this kid's name on the air would be an epic achievement.

Maybe Lalhnehpuia Chhakchauk can start the club cricket team during the off-season.

Perhaps he'll eventually evolve into NPU's next Toby Marek? 🏀
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Whoever sees PT on each of the conference teams, let's just hope they are able to play in front of crowds unrestrained by all or most all of the restrictions that were in place this past season. And a full house at any of the conference venues would certainly be a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l thing!  8-)  ;D

Now there's a thought. Kudos on the timely reference.

I'll gladly take that.

Yes, not basketball related, but . . .

Congratulations to the IWU men's golfers for winning the D3 national championship, two in a row now -- 2019 and 2021.  They won by 11 strokes over previously #1 Methodist College . . . playing in West Virginia.   Another Walnut and Bronze for IWU and for the CCIW.   Great work, gentlemen.

(The IWU women also in the national D3 golf tournament in Lansing, MI., having a great year too, winning the CCIW championship, making the cut at the national tournament, and finishing top 10, Tied for 9th.  Great work, ladies!).

iwu70, I played an 18-hole course once in my life, in Buffalo Grove I think.
Got a 223. The high score is good, right?
We had to allow several other groups to "play through."
My baseball-style swing did yield one highlight : a low liner that skipped off a pond and onto the green. Don't ask how many putts I then needed.

I could've given you some tips, Rog. I'm a great putter. I never, ever hit any of the windmill blades.

Guys, you sounds like some of the retired IWU profs I play with now . . .  :)   IWU varsity guys are truly serious, top-notch players, I think able to compete well even in the DI ranks.

I've been playing lots of golf lately, in retirement -- my mantra:  novels and golf, and plenty of "good trouble" related to Hong Kong.  My IWU college buddies still here in town are good players, so I have some guys to chase, some inspiration to play better.  We play at ISU DA Weibring Championship course, which is really lovely now, in great trim and shape.  I shot 86 the other day . . . so things are looking up, for an old man . . .  :)

All best for summer's charms, whatever your choice of "charms" may be . . .

Perhaps more basketball related than you realize, iwu70.
After all, RogK's 223 score is the predicted average PPG for the upcoming season's IWU 🏀 team.  :D

Mark, I'm going to say the same thing to you about Mark S. that my mother used to say to me when one of my little brothers was amusing me with his misbehavior: "Don't encourage him, or he'll never learn better."  ;)

Shout out to Titan Q for his long form interviews. They are really good. I listened to the Ryan Scott episode while mowing the lawn on Saturday.

Thank you, Gordon!

Cricket, golf . . .what does it matter?  :)

I'll take my golfing 86 recently as a good ppg average for next year's TITANS.   :)  One can hope.  We always say, get to 78 and almost always win the game . . .  86 would be even nicer.

Be well, all  . . . thanks for the encouragement.   :)

Agree on Q's great interviews . . . good stuff.
