OK, guys, to the culture of the boards, I am adding smites almost every day.

I went from 60 to 95 since November.

I have no problem with my smite count, but it drives me crazy that someone disagrees so much that they feel it necessary to show me that, but refuse to step up and explain why.

Smiting should be reserved for those who go after players, coaches or other posters.  A throw-away comment about Decatur or Covid-19 should be ignored or addressed.

You're are smarter than me.

I genuinely do not care about the count, but that people click the button without presenting a counter argument.

IWU is driving up and back on gameday for these next two:

* Sat, at Carroll 4pm
* Sun, at Carthage 7pm

I'm going to guess one of those generally gets ignored and the other not so much.

I am hoping that Decatur-related comments are more controversial by 2022-2023...

I totally ignore the karma/smite thing . . . I've been in negative territory for years . . . and don't care a snip.  This board does get silly and snarky sometimes, for sure . . .but you just gotta let it go . . . and not bother with the board schoolmarms. . .  it is what it is, they are who they are . . . and we just move on and discuss/report on basketball, support our various teams, and try to admire great play and coaching, when we see it . . . and, of course, discuss opera and Chinese New Year, now and then. :)  We all are, supposedly, liberally educated graduates of our former schools, right?

I'm just hoping that Hambo and/or anybody else who takes a fancy to Millikin men's basketball will start posting here regularly.

We never seem to have a consistent presence for MU on any of our CCIW boards, be they men's basketball, football, women's basketball, baseball, or men's soccer. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the Big Blue have never had a self-declared fan post on any of the latter three boards.

BIG BLUE BEN

Enter, BIGBLUE BEN lol! I have been following along for a few years and mainly only post on the CCIW football page since I am a football alumni but I also root for the Basketball team and watch alot of their games. The Wheaton game was a thing a beauty and as a longtime Milli BBall supporters I think we were all waiting for Wheaton to snap out of it and it just never happened. Millikin proved the real parity in the CCIW this year and after seeing Millikin's ceiling against Wheaton, I think the boys shouldn't resign their  Title hopes just yet... Although the double OT loss @NCC hurts, we seem to be hitting our stride at the perfect time.

Wesleyan  (6-1) 13-2
Elmhurst   (4-2)   12-3
NNC          (4-2) 9-5
Millikin   (5-3) 10-7
Wheaton   (5-3)   13-4
North Park   (3-4)   7-7
Augustana   (3-5)   8-9
Carthage   1-5   8-7
Carroll   1-7   5-12

Big Blue next 4 games: I think MU can win all 4 of these games, if so it would set up a a 14-7 (9-3) red hot MU team hosting IWU @ the GRIZ. If Wheaton can beat Elmhurst tomorrow and then Elmhurst beats IWU then my dream of this game being for 1st place may not just be a fantasy. Dont want to get ahead of ourselves bc every game is a grind in the CCIW but just a bigger picture view of how MU is 100% in the mix when they play like they did the other night (More impressive bc MU was missing best big man, ankle sprain for Wheaton game).

Well, that would have been a ton of fun, but since the Carthage game is really on Monday it won't be necessary, and the Greenies will have a day off from their bus marathon.  ;)
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

Wow. That's still a lot of bus time. However, I guess when you play a sport for IWU, you get to know the stretch of I-55 north to Chicago very well.

iwu70

Yes, IWU @Carthage is Monday night.  Hope the IWU new truck/busses are comfortable.  They look pretty comfy . . .

The grind for IWU with four straight away games, culminating in another important game vs. and @Elmhurst . . .  lots of miles to be travelled, and lots of sleeping on the bus, I'm sure.

Thanks for the +1.  I'm touched.
