What players are looking like finalists for MOP?
Is there any difference between MOP and MVP?
Is the best player on the #1 team automatically the favorite?
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

Seems like 2 legit candidates and 1 darkhorse, all deserving for different reasons.

Adom
Leritz
Hellwig

It will be one of those three. I don't think it's a slam dunk that it's Leritz. Hellwig is putting up video game numbers and should certainly be in the conversation. Adom and Leritz are the leading stat guys on the 2 best teams. This is decidedly an MVP award vs an MOP award. That's the only reason Hellwig is a darkhorse instead of the leader for the award in my opinion. Jake Rhode is a distant 4th for this.

Around the league tonight:

Carroll 80, Carthage 66 in Kenosha
Illinois Wesleyan 78, North Central 65 at the Shirk
Millikin 74, Elmhurst 64 in an upset at Faganel
Wheaton 77, North Park 67 out in suburbia
Augustana is idle.

Millikin trailed 27-5 early on before roaring past the Jays on the road.

Unrelated: someone has been dinging my karma every day for the past few weeks.  Keep it up!  But if you really disliked me, you'd do it on the weekend and not just weekdays.  Right now you're being lazy and just stealing time from your employer.

(It's probably Todd Raridon's burner account...)

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing.  And I've scarcely posted.  Certainly nothing controversial.  Who else is encountering this?

It's happening to me too. I felt like at first they centered around my posting about attendance policies but it seems to be happening with more frequency.

By the end of the week, I will have been smited more since November than I have going back to 2008 or whenever I joined.  Oh well...

Yep, field is set.

*-Illinois Wesleyan13-2
z-Wheaton11-4
y-Elmhurst10-5
y-North Central10-6
x-Millikin9-6
x-Augustana6-9
e-North Park4-11
e-Carroll3-12
e-Carthage2-13

Only thing left up for grabs is the 3 seed, which is Elmhurst's unless they lose at Carthage and Millikin wins at Wheaton on Saturday. That would mean a three way tie, which favors the Cardinals (3-1 head to head).

In your case, I suspect it's related to your continued refusal to deploy twwwwwwwwoooooooooooo pointer! with gusto as a line extension of your trademark catchphrase...  ::)

What's the tiebreak if Millikin and North Central tie at 10-6?

At the Shirk, a very enjoyable game, Titans leading from start to finish, usually by 10-20 points in the second half . . .  very good half-court defense.  Lambesis doing a great job on M. Hellwig, holding him to 19 . . . chasing him everywhere.  Hellwig is really good, such a sweet shot.   But the Titans just had too much size and depth for NCC tonight.  IWU winning the rebounding line 37-28, both teams making 10 treys.

For NCC -- scoring 65:
M. Hellwig 19 and 9 . . . really good player.
Meridith a nice game too, 13
E. Hellwig 12

For IWU -- get to 78 and win the game, almost always.
Leritz 17 and 9
Yoder 15
Lambesis, one of his better offensive games, 13 and 5
Heflen 8
Sroka 8
Noe 7
Mitchell 9 rebounds.

The Titans claim the top seed and the CCIW regular season championship outright.  One game to go @Augie Saturday night.  The CCIW tournament on the weekend will be at The Shirk, Friday and Saturday, 25th and 26th.

Congratulations to Coach Rose, all his staff, and all the Titans on a championship season.  Keep it rolling, Titans.  March beckons . . .

NCC gets the nod due to a head to head sweep. I get to do one more game no matter what on Tuesday, it's just a question of whether our visitors are coming from Decatur (most likely) or Rock Island.

That or they don't like my game of "How long can I pause between announcing which North Central player is going to the line and saying 'shooting TWO!' as they receive the ball." :P
