NextManUp, I think you got it about right, for the future of the Titans.  Of course, others and some newbies may intrude, but IWU does have a very solid, experienced and deep group coming back . . . and they will again be good.  Hard to replace Leritz, Noe and Lambesis, as they've been great, some great careers and moments from them, but the IWU program always moves on . . . and finds a way to reload, not rebuild.  We'll see in time on recruiting and who might improve and step up into the rotation from the pine-sitting contingent.  Lots of talent there waiting their turn.  It always seems to happen . . . program guys who stick it out and then have their chance as juniors or seniors.  Yoder, Mitchell, Heflen and Sroka are a very good basis to build on for next season.

It was a bitter loss for sure . . .  and I'm moving on, too.

See you all around, next season.

I for one am interested to see how Nick Roper develops at IWU. Big dude with guard skills. Could be a game changer.

The Thunder had 6-4 sophomore guard Nick Schiavello step up late in the season. He is one of the guys of the future for Wheaton. I am excited to see him take the next step and become a CCIW star.

Good luck to the Bluejays in Ft Wayne.

1. Luke Yoder/Hakim Williams
2. Ryan Sroka/Lucas Heflin
3. Nick Roper/Connor Heaton
4. Cody Mitchell/Evan Schneider
5. Harrison Wilmsen/Grant Hardy

For some reason, in my mind, I did not have Luke Yoder coming back.

In the Covid-19 time warp where people are still playing in season 5 or 6, it gets hard to keep track.

I wouldn't know. Bob's just blocked me within the past few hours. I haven't tweeted anything, so he obviously lurks here on CCIW Chat and objects either to my pointing out that he was wrong about the Schreiber call (although I took pains to point out that he later admitted his mistake on Twitter), my pointing out that he was retweeting several pro-IWU rage tweets, or my calling out Randy Reinhardt for being unprofessional.

I'm sad about this. Bob and I have been friends for a very long time. I have a great deal of respect for him. He contributes to several things that make D3 men's basketball better for a lot of people across the country, and his Q-casts are the best addition to the D3 men's basketball landscape over the past couple of years. But I firmly believe in not hiding things from people, unless you've been specifically asked to keep quiet about them or you know that an innocent person will be compromised by your revelation. It's the whole reason why I choose to post here under my own name rather than use an alias. People know who I am, and, if they read this room for any length of time, they know what I do in terms of working for a D3 school's athletic department. I am answerable for everything I say (and everything I quote other people as saying), and I not only accept that level of accountability, I embrace it. I have nothing to hide, and if I make a mistake or if I step on toes that shouldn't be stepped on, I want to know about it so that I can apologize and make it right. It doesn't make me better than others, but I hope that it makes me more careful. That matters to me. Bob and I have different philosophies regarding transparency and candor, and that's fine. Different strokes for different folks. I'm not happy that it's come to this, though.

I experienced a similar blocking on Twitter by Bob recently.  He had tweeted about Leritz having an amazing season and being the best low post player in D3.  I agreed he is an AA player, but that he was not amazing against Hope back in November (his stats for that game weren't good - 3pts on 1-5, 8 reb, 3 to, 4 fouls).  Apparently pointing out the stats were a reason to be blocked.  Bob does have a wealth of D3 knowledge and his Q casts are really well done.  Sad he seems to have get his "panties in a bunch" so easily these days.

While I too sometimes miss Q's D3 knowledge and passion, I am also a member of the Blocked by Bob team. Several years ago, after an innocuous Grey Giovanine tweet after Augie won the CCIW tournament, Bob took exception to Giovanine pointing out that it was the Vikings' third win over IWU that season. I countered that he was probably proud of that fact, seeing that it doesn't happen all that often and Augustana had to beat the best to win that title. Blocked within seconds. Good thing I had a burner account to keep following to this day!

Hmm, this seems to be a trend. Maybe we should print some "Blocked by Bob" t-shirts. ;)

Yoder is only a junior, coming back for his senior year.

I agree with Usee about Nick Roper . . . a very bright future, great size, agility and outside shooting, at the 3 or the 4.  IWU has others in the pine-sitting group that may play a part, too.  Lots of depth there. . .

Congrats to IWU's Matt Leritz on yet another honor, First Team All-American.

Congrats to all the other honorees.

As has been widely discussed over what seems the last millennium the last thing Bob ever wants to hear is any suggestion that not every IWU player is always the brightest star of the night, or that there is even a single degree of possibility that IWU is not the greatest team in the history of D3 basketball. Definite grounds for almost immediately being blocked.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

OK, guys, highly partisan fans are common in college sports.

Most of us are guilty of that.

On Twitter, he does more than anyone else to hype players and programs and to foster discussion.  You gotta give him credit for that.

There's hyping which is to be expected, and then there's over-hyping by predicting that just about every recruit who ever commits to IWU is an automatically guaranteed future star before he ever sets foot on the court. It's rare when anyone who "signs" with IWU isn't a kid that several D1s wanted, is a "significant " get, or who is going to be "really good."

Partisanship goes with being a good fan but most good fans know enough to not crown a player as elite until he actually makes a basket, completes a pass, or blocks a shot.

"does more than anyone else to hype players" is prima facie evidence of the facts of the matter.

And what's with the blocking of people whose opposing opinions he wants to hear nothing of? It's like you have to listen to me, but I don't want to listen to any of your crap.  ::)

I blocked him on Twitter so long ago I can't even remember when.  I only know that he was continuing his green-weenie-slanted pablum thanks to a link you provided in a previous post Re: the officiating vs Wabash.

OF COURSE he still reads this forum. It's why I and others should, every so often, continue to needle him and immunize this space from any further mutations of TitanQ-19 variants.

Kinda hard to give him credit (which most of us already have) for stuff we will never see. I feel like I'm in Jr. High again....

I'll take two please - as long as they aren't Titan Green!

My response is somewhere between fair enough and I blocked an obvious troll last night.  But I get your point.  Also, I am not saying you were trolling.

If he does read the boards, then I would suggest that he begin to moderate his Yeshiva-related content to something closer to proportional to their space within the #d3hoops universe, though I am sure he is having fun so I guess I cannot blame him.
