Elmhurst and CCIW fans... the championship game is not on the internet... It is on the CBS Sports Network, who has exclusive rights to it....

That channel is available on most spectrum systems... channel 139 on my spectrum system... ladies championship game is currently being broadcast there....

On Xfinity try channel 232.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Congratulations to d3hoops.com All-Americans Matt Leritz (first team), Jake Rhode (second team), and Nyameye Adom (third team). Well-deserved for each of them.

Congratulations to Elmhurst! I have watched a few Elmhurst games this season and I probably could have named five players off the top of my head but I can't even recall hearing the name Domenic Genco. What a game for that dude.

Watching Genco for several seasons, I'm not too surprised he is performing this way.  I've always thought of him as one of those talents capable of doing much more but perfectly happy to defer to someone like Rhode and play the supportive role.  It's nice that he's been encouraged to show more of what he can do in these last few games.  I felt the same way about Derek Dotlich who had that easy lefty stroke from the three point arc and was capable of really lighting it up.

Elmhurst went under the buzzsaw tonight, losing 75-45 in the national championship game to what is by a pretty healthy margin the best team in all of D3, Randolph-Macon.

When the smoke clears, though, the Bluejays will look back on this run with a lot of pride. They got a whole lot further than any Bluejays team ever has before. Congrats to Elmhurst on a great season.

I thought earlier that Elmhurst vs. Randy Mac would be similar to Millikin vs. Hope in the women's tourney, but after their utter destruction of Wabash, I'm no longer certain that Elmhurst is doomed! ;)

Alas, I was closer to right the first time, except Randy Mac beat down the Jays even worse than the Dutch whupped the Blue. :o

After what Jake Rhode, et. al., did the last few games, I did NOT see a defeat of THAT magnitude coming. :-[

Congrats to Randolph Macon.  Great team, dominating championship game.

Congrats to Elmhurst on a great run, a great season . . .finishing third in the CCIW and second in the nation.  Not bad at all.   They just couldn't handle that zone . . .  couldn't find the range.

On to the March Madness Sweet 16 . . . and to softball, baseball and golf!

See you'all next season . . .

Congratulations to Coach Baines and the Bluejays players.  Very proud of my Alma Mater.   The Jays should (and will) hold their heads high, knowing the left it all on the court,  and paved the way for future Jays athletes.  Hopefully a big banner will someday fly high from the Faganel Rafters and when they get to be our age, will look back and remember how great this season was.

Looks like he wants to close out his career by trying to rebuild his alma mater's program after the Broncos suffered back-to-back 3-27 and 2-18 seasons. Can't say that I blame him for that, as that seems like a coach's dream.

It's just North Park's luck that this is the second time in a row that the Vikings have had to fill a head-coaching vacancy in men's basketball while a second CCIW job is open.

While I am as outsider as an outsider gets regarding the inner workings on Brainard Street, this doesn't completely surprise me.

The window where North Central's coach might think about other options was naturally going to be more open once we reached a point where the Sons of Raridon had passed through the program. (There's a 'My Three Sons' riff in there somewhere that I can't believe we never exploited...)

This particular move seems like a good opportunity for him to build a foundation at an institution that he certainly feels a connection to.  It's a rare chance to go home again.

From a NCC alum's perspective, things had been adrift for a few years before Todd Raridon arrived, and he immediately leveled up both results and the expectations.  He is leaving the Cardinal men's program in a much much much stronger place than what he inherited.

Greek Tragedy

So now that the season is officially finished, it's time to look at next year.  Are there any players listed as seniors returning for their "Covid" year?  If not, the 3 tournament teams seem to be losing a lot.

IWU - Leritz, Noe, Lambesis

Elmhurst - Rhode, Thomas, Genco, Militello

Wheaton - Alioth, Adom, Cruickshank, Anthony, Uvegas

NCC - Matt Helwig, Meredith

If you go based off of "Did we honor them on Senior Night," Matt Helwig would be back since he wasn't one of our four. Blaise is probably done though (given that we honored him combined with his "Aw man, I didn't even realize this was my last one here!" response when I thanked him for everything after the Cardinals beat Millikin in their CCIW Tournament opener.)

Nice kudos for the top of the CCIW in the final d3.com poll:  three of the top ten! ;D

Elmhurst 3, IWU 6, Wheaton 10.

Would have been even better if NCC had gotten at least a handful of votes.
