I see I missed this in the afternoon but I just want to clarify that we are complaining about the Top 25 poll result of a team which is unranked and received 0.3% of all poll points?

There may be another head coach job opening in the CCIW this off-season. Hearing rumblings about another move in the conference. Nothing substantiated yet, but stay tuned.

By the way, knowing karma is still a thing around here, I'm probably going to toy with the settings here and see if we can nip some of this in the bud. I see one member of this board (who hasn't made a post recently) logged on today to smite 14 people, one of whom hasn't posted in at least a month.

I can only see the last 24 hours in any log but that's the only person who seems to be using karma in such a way right now. Everyone else who has dished any out in that span has done so in a pretty balanced way.

The problem is that it has been going on just about daily since around December. I have talked to 3-4 other posters besides myself who have also been having this happen almost daily. If someone is dinging 14 people a day for no reason shouldn't they be at least warned if not terminated?
Also, if the same group of people are all often getting dinged more than once a day, it seems very possible that more than one person is abusing the system. Maybe someone dinging not 14 people a day, but more like 6 or 7.
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

Don't surround yourself with yourself. 🧍🏼‍♂️(Yes)

Maybe we can do a fundraiser and get that person a subscription to a virtual counseling service.  Dude needs help.

But I thought everyone was supposed to, I dunno, nurture a sourdough starter as their Covid hobby...

I kind of liked when you could smite specific posts. It actually made more sense. Instead of wondering why you got dinged, at least you'd know what post people didn't like.

Actually, I've gotten dinged over a dozen times the past 2 weeks. I never said anything about it because, frankly, I don't care. It doesn't hurt my feelings at all and I don't feel loved when someone "applauds" me. I'm guessing others can be a little more sensitive about it though. If anything, recently, it's amused me that someone has taken time out of their lives to purposely smite me for no reason at all. When I was getting dinged, I joked to myself that I must have stolen their pick in a fantasy league draft.

I never jump straight to termination but am taking action that I will not share publicly.

I voted for Rochester, too.

Perhaps a matchup between the Oswego Lakers and the Yellowjackets is in order?  Oswego's coach is a Rochester alum.  Campuses are 75 miles apart.  That would be a "circle the date" early season game for sure.

What, Mike's decided that he likes national committee work so much that he's going to move to Indy and become one of the NCAA bureacrats? :D

This forum never ceases to amaze... thought it was a space where adults discussed small college basketball; turns out it is more akin to an elementary school playground where children are more concerned about name-calling and that "little Timmy told Jimmy that my lunchbox is dumb". Unfortunately it seems like the Principal participates in the juvenile shenanigans as well.

(Why adults place so much importance on what other people think of them - especially people they have never met - will forever exceed my understanding of all things logical and rational.)

It's not all bad though - it does provide entertainment now that the season is over. Just need to get out the popcorn machine again...

That the human brain has evolved to regulate a sense of status and rewards or punishes the brain by changing the levels of serotonin, dopamine and so on must fall under the exceed my understanding clause.

I find it fascinating from a socio-psychological perspective that an individual would take the time to login and target 14 posters with something so simple as a smite.  And has been doing so regularly since November or December.  I have my theories as to why, but alas...

NCC has announced the resignation of Head Coach Todd Raridon. He will be leaving to become head coach at his alma mater, Hastings College.
