Not sure what the delay is with regards to the announcement of the new North Central Head Coach. It must take longer nowadays to get a background check done then it used to. At this point everyone knows what is happening as the secret is out of the bag and spilling across the table. Actually, there was never much more than a very little degree of doubt as to what the ultimate outcome would be.

Unfortunately, should the choice be who is widely expected at this point, the manner in which the decision was made, and by whom, will at least somewhat cloud the fact that North Central is going to get a good man, and a good coach.

At this point, all I want is the end of the hideous maroon uniforms!

Or possibly his second as Bob Quillman also interviewed him and published that interview yesterday: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7zIHquGw64
Wait!... He does stuff on programs OTHER than IWU or Yeshiva? I thought those were the only programs that matter...

WUPHF

I have said it before that he spends too much time on Yeshiva, relative to the overall story, but they have a lot of fans that love to engage on social media so I guess I would do the same.  Otherwise, if there was a media of the year award for Division III basketball, he ran away with that honor by November.

The Yeshiva stuff is hilarious on Q's twitter. If you take away the banter I bet he has spent very little time on serious Yeshiva stuff.

The Q-cast has been really good stuff. I enjoyed the Sean Smith interview and look forward to the AF interview coming soon to a Q-Cast near you! :o

That is exactly right.

Obviously, he should run his Twitter, YouTube and so forth how he sees fit.  He is going where the traffic is and I do not blame him.

Traffic and engagement -- can confirm it is good to play to audiences who are engaged. :)

The new coach will be overjoyed that a donor has already stepped up to purchase a new set of road uniforms for the team. $$$$  ;D
So young hero, ask yourself............................Do you want to go to college, get a good education, and play (basketball)(football), or do you want to go to college, get a good education, and watch (basketball)(football)? 🤔 😏

He clearly needs to combine all of his notifications onto a wuphf.com account.

Incidentally, Bob's interview of Sean Smith is terrific and a must-watch if you're a CCIW fan. I know that I've said this before, but Bob is a gifted interviewer.

Great interview and I like coach Smith.   LFG!

He can continue to do his good work on any account (or combination thereof), as long as I have it blocked.

Pgraph piece yesterday on IWU's new recruitment class:

Committing to IWU are:

Asa Smith, El Paso-Gridley
Nathan Boldt, Barrington
Karlo Colak, New Trier
Will Shank, Western Reserve Academy (Ohio)
Nick Tingley, Feltrim Academy (Florida)
David Williams, Peoria Notre Dame
Miles Nash, Brophy Prep (Arizona)

Some good PGs, some size in 6'10 Boldt, several 6'5, 6'6 wing players, many from very successful high school programs, with various All-Area selections etc.  Time will tell if they are high-quality CCIW-level players.

Leritz to Bryant for MBA on full scholarship.  Yoder likely to North Dakota State.  Not sure on the others . . .  portal directions and opportunities.  All with good job offers too . . . as Lambesis, Leritz and Noe all graduating with honors, academic society Greek letters behind their names at graduation time.  Proud of them all.

With three top seniors and Yoder departing, plenty of playing time available for next year's Titans.  Plenty of talent coming back too . . . from the rotation and from the pine-sitters, waiting their turn.

Looks like IWU might have to change from the Titans to the Academites. Guys who evidently thought they were scholarship level coming out of high school who turned out not to be, and went to basketball factories to polish their skill sets only to end up in D3 anyway. Although they probably will be star caliber D3s after $25,000 worth of training. Must be nice to have parents with extra money like that laying around.

Not sure there are "plenty" of minutes available. IWU looked to have a solid lineup pretty well set for next year before these new additions. When you take what already looked like a solid group and add in the academy hybrids and other significant newbies, it would seem that a case of so many men, so few minutes exists rather than plenty of minutes available.

Another week with no announcement of the new NCC HC. This despite widespread speculation since at least a week ago today that a selection, known to many, had been made. However, the reason for the delay remains a mystery. Meanwhile, many from among the NCC basketball family continue to call and send notes in support of the peoples' choice. Could this unending support be causing some rethinking, and explain the delay? Probably not, but hope springs eternal.

My basketball "spider sense" (and past experiences in this EXACT situation) tells me that, with this playing out over an extended timeline like this, the candidate who received the initial offer has turned it down and NCC has moved on to their #2. Seems to me that of the four finalists, 3 of them would have immediately accepted the job (Figueroa, Kelly, Kmiec) and the other (Kennedy) would be a 50/50 proposition at best.
