Millikin is having some struggles.

It's certainly not uncommon for a small school in this current economic and demographic environment to be going through a round of this kind of belt-tightening. And Millikin's not the first CCIW school to endure this over the past few years.

Anyone have a clue what is going on with the Carroll search?

WUPHF

I was just thinking about the Carroll search.

One of names that should be in the mix for Illinois and Wisconsin coaching jobs is former Illinois Wesleyan guard Pat Sodemann at the University of Illinois Springfield.  The Prairie Stars went 19-10 this season.

He has been at UIS for four seasons so he may or may not be interested in new opportunities or Division III jobs (his coaching experience has primarily been in Division II), but it is only a matter of time.

So happy for  Tyson Cruickshank and the Wheaton program for their success and his awards.  I remember watching him 5 or 6 years ago when he was a babyfaced freshman thinking this kid is going to be good.  He'll be missed.

Farleigh Dickinson HC, Tobin Anderson, cracked me up and also impressed me with his motor mouth and energy.  He is a kid from Iowa, played hoops at the D3 level, and started coaching in D3. Rose to D2 and now, in his early 50s, coached a considerable DI tourney upset.

Also from Iowa?  Ms. Caitlin Clark.  Iowa's opponent KNEW the game would be the CC show and failed miserably in their attempts to stop her.

Bill Warden was a giant of CCIW men's basketball, both as a player and as a head coach. If this league ever gets around to creating a CCIW Men's Basketball Hall of Fame, Bill goes in on the first ballot. Unanimously.

Peace to his memory, and my condolences to those who mourn his passing.

The CCIW doesn't have a Hallof Fame???? Surprising. But if they create one, it seems it should be inclusive of all sports, not just men's basketball.

Why not give each sport its own HoF? I mean, it's not like we're talking about erecting a museum and gift shop on Brainard Avenue in Naperville, or anything.

^^^  Sure, it could be done that way. Just doesn't make sense to me to have a HoF for only some sports rather than all of them. Or there should at least be a way to recognize players who had HoF worthy careers in whatever sport they played.

Gregory Sager

Again, nobody's saying that each sport shouldn't have its own HoF. It's just that men's basketball, which is one of only six sports that the CCIW has played continuously since its inception as the CCI seventy-six years ago, most certainly deserves one all to itself.

Out of curiosity, the sports were football, basketball, baseball and track?

Gregory Sager

Football, men's basketball, baseball, men's golf, men's outdoor T&F, and men's tennis.
