Looks like North Central won 79-60 at Carthage

Wow!  IWU barely sneaks another one out...i love their announcers!  They kept saying that they thought for sure the last three by Wheaton was down because everyone has shot well against IWU this year....almost like poor IWU.  Gotta love it!

We will see how real Augie is this weekend when they play North Central at home!   Hope to be in attendance for that one.

Carthage's effort tonight was just absolutely horrible.  From the head coach to the last guy on the bench with the exception of  Kyle Jeffery who might as well have been out there by himself.  I'm extremely disapointed in the coaching.  It looked like Bosko was just pouting rather than coaching like it wasn't him fault his kids didn't play well.  He is a joke.  It's a shame you people hold him in such high regard,  he shows no class as a winner and or a loser.  I'm sure he preaches never quiting to his kids and that's exactly what he did tonight quit on the kids, I'm not sure he even stood up in the second half except when he was forced to during a timeout.  It's dissapointing to see the way these guys play.  I wish they knew how much some people would love to have a chance to play college basketball.  Other than Jeffery the whole Carthage staff should be embarrassed and ashamed and I really hope they can win at least a few games as to not become the North Park of the league.

18 boards for zach! 27 points for keelan!

:o :o :o
what a bunch of heros...  :-\ ;)

Incidentally Greg... Fiddlers and Wiele's play against IWU has gotta make you feel better about their performaces at North Park, no? Lol... I bet everyone going to remember Andy Wiele now.  :D

The worst stat, for Wheaton, seems to be that we were outrebounded by nine. The turnovers seems to be getting under better control. Seems like most other things went pretty well. Exciting things coming for this young squad.

Oh yeah... Johnnie is back! woooo!   :D

Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan
What are Parkers now supposed to chant after every NP vs WC game, "Let's go enjoy tobacco products off-campus? - Gregory Sager
We all read it, but we don't take anything you say seriously - Luke Kasten

RIP WheatonC

Johnny Augie

The CCIW is proving to be a very difficult conference.

Augie has a difficult challenge ahead of them against NC this Saturday.  Harrigan had another great game and has been consistent for this Augie team all year long.  Hopefully he has another good one this Saturday.

Wesleyan 87, Wheaton 81 in OT.  The rivalry continues...

Tony had the game winner - but it wasn't meant to be (as Bob mentioned, the shot was looking good all the way!).  Andy knocked down 6 3s as a 6'8" freshman (22 points).  Hmmmm.  Congrats to the Thunder for a great effort and some darn good ball tonight.

I thought Trost's decision to move back his original starters was a good one.  I think the win for the Titans will give them the energy and confidence they need to get them back to their winning ways.  KA's 3 in OT was huge.  Overall, the Titans couldn't stop the Thunder shots, so Wesleyan just took 'em to the mat and squeeked it out.  Call it experience and senior leadership.

Just a great, great game.

Great job, Wheaton Thunder!  You guys are playing with alot of heart.  Three players had career nights in scoring:

Andy Wiele        22 points
John Mohan       21 points
Michael Fiddler   21 points

Coach Harris may not have as many victories this year as in most years, but he sure is having alot of fun coaching this team.

I thought Bob's broadcast was an excellent one.  Art is missed, but the new guy Jim Williams did fine.  Overall though, Bob brings a ton to the call.  Nice job gentlemen!

Elmhurst wins by 11 as Augiesuperfan noted.

Michael had 18pts
Martin had 16pts and it was a quiet 16.
Strzemp had 15 pts

Mathisen (sp?) had 17 for the park.

It was a pretty ugly affair for both sides except when Elm was up 19-4. After that they shot very poorly from anywhere outside of 5 ft. Park threw up some ugly 3's against our zone and I mean ugly long by a few feet like hitting the otherside of the backboard on at least 3 occasions. Park would have hung around even more if it werent for so many turnovers. Sager's got the rest.

Updated standings:

Augie          5-0
NCC            3-1
IWU            3-2
Elmhurst      3-2
Millikin         2-3
Wheaton     1-2
NPU            1-4
Carthage     0-4

I think that is right

Mr. Ypsi

I had faith that Bill Harris wouyld get his very GREEN (sorry 'bout that ;)) team playing well, but I didn't expect this well this soon!  If they could restart the season with the way they are playing lately, they would NOT be 5-9.

With the personnel losses they suffered, I had Wheaton pegged for 7th.  I now think it may be a three-way battle among Elmhurst, Millikin, and Wheaton for the final tournament berth, though so far I'd still peg 'hurst as the fvorite.
