I'lll be leaving in a few minutes to go to the Shirk to wacth what is probably the last home game for this senior class. They are an outstanding group of young men who will go on to do very well in the bigger game of life. There will be a packed Shirk tonight to watch these guys get one last home win before heading into the conference tournament. And if the growing whispers amoung the IWU fans and around campus are correct, this could also be the last game Coach Trost is on the Titans bench at the Shirk.

Woah Woah Woah...Maddog are you telling me that Trost is hanging it up after this year?

Elmhurst up big at Wheaton  looks like the Jays are taking their frustration the last few games, out on the Thunder.
1) Augie 2) NC 3) EC 4) IWU is how some others on the in-game updates board have it.
Augie vs. IWU  EC vs. NC next weekend.  Should be a great tournament... as all 4 teams have a good shot at the tourney champ.

NCC destroyed Augie 86-61 this evening. The Cards could have won by 40 had they wanted to do so. Once the game became a blowout the Augie regulars (other than Harrigan) were pulled from the game, but the regulars were ineffective in the first half when NCC built up a big lead.

Not exactly an encouraging effort going into the post season, but, of course, Augie really had nothing to play for tonight. Clearly the best 4 teams in the conference and four of the best in the Nation are heading to Rock Island next weekend for the conference tourney. Hopefully, we'll find a way to get 3 teams in the real tourney.

HUGE win for North Central tonight...that is a very big win for their Pool C chances.  They are now 14-5 in region with a QOWI of somewhere in the 40s most likely.  If they can win in the semis, they should really get a good look at Pool C.  I guess its hard this year with the expansion to tell exactly where you need to be but they'll have 6 in-region losses which should atleast get them a good look if conference tournaments pan out pretty well.

Augie2000, it depends on which rumor, if any of them, is actually true. It's being said in some corners that Trost is ready to move on for personal reasons and others are saying that his contract, said to be up this year, won't be renewed. I really don't know what is going on and I am not predicting anything, but usually when you hear consistent rumors from various sources, there is some truth in them. We'll just have to wait and see.

It was a great ending to the Shirk careers of the IWU seniors tonight with a big win over an outmanned NP team. The guys seemed to actually be having fun on the floor and Trost played all 8 of them regularly. And in a very nice guesture, pulled them out one by one so each could get a standing ovation from the crowd. Maybe a night that this will help put them in position for a good CCIW tournament and a long run in the NCAA tournament. The guys really seemed to enjoy going through the line of "Korey's Kids" before the game anf being together for one last time on the floor. After the game, Adam took the mic, thanked the crowd for their support in behalf of all the seniors  Then he said to keep making the Shirk a special place and it was a special place in his and athe other seniors hearts. It was a touching moment from the guy who who was the leader of the team and played so hard game in and game out.

They announced after the game that the Titans were 4th in the conference and would play Augie on Friday night. Q said on the post game show it could be a important game for the Titans to win in order to get into the NCAA tournament.  If they lose, they might not get a bid. Q's not wrong very often but I sure hope he is off base this time. I am looking forward to two great games on Friday night, should be a tremendous night of CCIW basketball.

Wheaton's run is over with tonight's pasting by the Blue Jays.  Nonetheless, the Thunder should be proud of how they've played in the past 2 weeks, and really in the past 3 months.  They've got one remaining game to prepare for and one more game for Tony Bollier.

Nice work by the Cards tonight!

I'm not sure that it does rhyme with Frost. Toast, boast, coast, most, maybe.

If it's true, I'll be disappointed. He threw a punch in my direction once for resetting the shot clock incorrectly. Too bad I was doing the scorebook, not the shot clock. The guy who was doing the shot clock was a guy who used to compete in World's Strongest Man competitions; I would have taken a swing at me too. Most fun I have ever had doing the scorebook, though. :)
