I have IWU hosting either Maryville (Mo) or Wash U Thursday before heading to #1 Lawrence Saturday.

Q, any choices other than Maryville since Wash U did not make it?

Shouldn't there be more pool C's than what is listed?  I only see 10.
Wait a minute guys,  Hammer can be tricky -- there is a list of 18 but maybe he only 'sees' ten  ::) :o ;D

Aww...the IWU student's rant got pulled off the board right when I was replying...what a shame

It was a good and LONG rant too.

Hey Q, I'm curious if your sensing a Hope/IWU bracket coming tommorrow morning?

Geographicly IWU/DePauw seems pretty logical but seed wise I'm not sure they matchup.

I just have a strange feeling the Green nation will get a chance to meet the Orange nation early.

Congrats to the CCIW teams in the field!  My best guess for rounds 1/2 is...

* Augie hosts 4-team regional

* North Central plays in 4-team regional @ Hope

* IWU hosts Maryville (Mo.) Thursday, then plays @ Lawrence Saturday......or IWU ends up at one of the 4-team sectionals in the area (@ Augie, Whitewater, Hope, or Transylvania)

The sleep deprivation from a newborn has made things a little blurry, but there was only ten pool C's listed for a time.

Congrats to IWU, Augie and NCC for making the tournament, it's great to have 3 CCIW teams in. Can't wait to see the parings tomorrow.

I really hope Transy somehow gets to host...then I'd only have to drive 5 minutes down the road instead of driving who knows where to see some D3 basketball

Nice job Cards, Vikes and Titans!  It sure was a lot of fun back in 01 when the CCIW had 3 teams in - but let's hope this time that the teams are spread around a bit more...don't want to see a potential CCIW match-up for a while.

I am surprised that the Wesleyan women didn't get a Pool C bid.  So Wheaton gets the AQ and is the only CCIW rep for the women.  I'm just glad they got in the Tourney (without having to worry about a very anti-Wheaton bias on the women's side).

Good luck to all!  (think Apollo, not Bodie!)

I just glanced over the pool C selections to make sure the cciw had two of them but then I didn't notice if they were in alphabetical order, or if they were in the order they were taken...I'm hoping it is the second since Augie is the first pool C listed, but then when your school starts with the letter A it could be either.... ???

Mr. Ypsi

Hiker,

I was very disappointed as well, though I knew the Titans were a bubble team.  But I really thought they would make it, confound it!

Congratulations to the CCIW and its three representative teams - Augustana, IWU and North Central.   I think the bracketing will be interesting and expect some surprises in the morning.  I would not be at all surprised, for example, to see North Central in the Lawrence Regional and IWU in a Hope Regional.

If the NCAA Selection Committee plays the lowest cost (aka let's not miss classes) geographic game, then Maryville or DePauw are probably the closet geographic opponent (aside from the CCIW teams) to IWU.  The other possibility could be Wisconsin Lutheran in Milwaukee; in which case, you might as well stay over Thursday night and srive to Appleton on Friday (so much for not missing classes)

Mr. Ypsi

Q (and all),

Maybe we got 'em right where we want 'em!

03: second round, @Wash U (#2 in the country) - IWU 85-73
04: second round, @ Hanover (#2 in the country) - IWU 77-67

If the prediction is accurate, is @1 all that different in the second round than @2??!!

The 18 Pool C  men's teams averaged 21.56 wins and 5.17 losses for a percentage of .806.  The 4 Pool B teams averaged 21.25  wins and 5.75  losses for .787.  The 37 conference automatic qualifiers averaged 20.30 wins and 6.11 losses for  . 768.      Add to file of  meaningless  statistics.
