Q, who made the All-Sectional Team and who was the Sectional tournament MVP?  My vote would go to Matt Arnold.  What say you?  Of course, Adam, Keelan and Zach put up the points, but who was money at key points in both games?  Adam's line for the UPS game is truly oustanding.

In reference to seating in Salem....In the two times that I've been there, '96 and '97, it was pretty much a free for all in regards to seating.  I've seen four games there and never actually sat in my assigned seat.  For the most part, fans kinda segregated themselves into sections on their own without regards to actual seating assignments.  Perhaps this has changed in the last several years, but if not, I would not be worried what actual seat assignment you may get for the game.  It ends up being a de facto general admission policy anyway.

DevilDog: A lot of things have changed in the past eight years, including seating arrangements at the Final Four.

Suffice it to say that the 11th Final Four in Salem is nothing like the first and second.

70, they do not select an All-Sectional team.  This topic did come up in postgame discussion though and I think many would agree with you that Matt Arnold was IWU's MVP in Appleton.  Still, it be hard not to give it to one of IWU's "Big 3" - Freeman had two big games, Dauksas had an incredible game in the one to get 'em to Salem, and Amelianovich was great in both.

I guess IWU kind of had a "Big 4" in the Sectional, with Matt Arnold an enourmous reason to Titans are going to Salem.  Anytime IWU gets a perfomance that good out of someone other than Freeman/Dauksas/Amelianovich, the Titans are very hard to beat.

Thanks, Q, though I find your reply a bit strange as I noticed in other sectional reports, write-ups etc. there were sectional teams named and also a sectional MVP designated.  Why is this different in our area as opposed to the other sectionals?  It was amazing to see such production from 4 Titans and also good games Andrew Freeman and Chris Jones.  Have a great time in Salem.  Surely wish I could be there.  But, as you know, I will only be able to follow the Titan run to Salem from a great distance.  Did have a nice email the other day from John Camerdella.  Always good to hear from Titan players and fans from earlier Salem experiences, too.

Congrats to IWU on your win.

>:( to the IWU fans who are bitching about the facility or the administration of the event.

Pat, thanks for the info if I do decide to go.  When IWU went to Salem the first two times, we were worried about seat assignments because several in our group all purchased tickets at different times.  Consequently, we were kinda spread out.  When we got there though, there was plenty room to go around, so nobody really payed attention to where people were sitting.  Everyone just kinda sat wherever they wanted to.  I guess the ushers watch this a little closer now.

Congrats to the Titans, good luck in Salem.

I made a $20 bet Friday night during halftime of the IWU game that the Titans would win it all.  I like my chances.

That's odd. There was supposed to be an All-Sectional team.

An all-tournament team shall be selected at each sectional site and at the site of
the semi-finals and finals."

Who was the NCAA rep at Lawrence? Should have read the handbook.

I just got home from Appleton. It was hard to watch Augie play such a critical game without one of their best players. It's tough to have a key injury or illness during the tournament, particularly to player that was such a big part of Augie's getting there in the first place.

There is no doubt in my mind Augie would have beaten UPS with a healthy Drew Wessels.  However, I really believe that IWU would have still been heading to the Final Four, even if Augie had been at full strength and had made it to Saturday night's game.

IWU's depth of talent is incredible. I wish them well in their bid for a National title.

Congrats to the Titans!  Best of luck in Salem.

Thank you Vikings for a CCIW title and great year!

Stat

Interesting to not see any of the regular posters on board now.  This is a green board, as it should be.   But where are the congratulations from Stat, Sager, Prikkel, CCIW etc.  Get the message?

Anyway, congrats and have fun Q and Hammer.
