They posted a description of his career on ESPN this morning, it read he coached DePaul from Mikan to Aguire.
That is a pretty impressive span of years coaching the same program.

It's not what we wanted, but 3rd is still better than 4th.

Final, IWU 71, Amherst 68.

Good. I make no bones about the fact that I don't like the NESCAC. Their single round-robin scheduling format really grates on me, even though it didn't pay off for them this season in terms of getting more than one Pool C bid.

It's also another feather in the cap for midwestern D3 basketball. Amherst is a very strong program, which makes this win a good statement.

Congratulations to all the Titan players and coaches.  We have all enjoyed following and supporting this team and we all appreciate all the fine play, traditions and commitment shown by this team.  You did IWU proud and we salute you for a fabulous season.

We can all shift to the "big dance" now and support Illinois.

Baseball?  (No thanks 'til at least the snow melts).  Steroids anyone?

Golf anyone?  :)

Congrats to Virginia Wesleyan.  They surprised everyone and played two excellent games to take the national title.

The Illinois Class AA tourney is still going on. Simeon vs. Peoria Richwoods tonight at 8:15 for the title. Go Wolverines! Bring the hardware home to Chi-town!

Well, they came away with 3rd, which is a lot harder to do, considering mental health is at an all time low going into that game.  I know it for a fact.

So congrats on a great run, and more important "finishing" under the worst circumstances.

Would of, could of, should of

but you were a top 4 D3 team!

OK - let's all support the Illini - OOPS -
Washington 67  Illinois 64

How about Bradley?

Stat's a Bradley Grad.  You remember Chet Walker, youngsters?

Go Braves!

OPPS is right.  Sorry to see the Illini and Dee Brown go out this early this year.  Was hoping they could make a bit more noise.

Great run by the Titans.  Really a great four years of achievement by this group of seniors (plus Zach and the others too).  Hope the party in Salem tonight is a good one and everybody gives the teams and the coaches all the applause they deserve on another great season of Titan basketball.

Greg, I share your view about the importance of the expanded tourney.  Let's hope it's a regular occurence now that CCIW gets 2-3 teams in each year.

So Illinois and UW-Milwaukee make their exit in the same round.   It doesn't seem all that long ago that Carthage scheduled UW-M.  But, at my age, advent of color TV doesn't seem that long ago, either.

Greg, Richwoods happens to be my alma mater - go Knights!

Since I sure won't hear the result up here, please post!
