As for the "nothing but air" part, CCIW Chat often manages to capture that aspect of the rumormongering game as well.  ;)

Agreed, but at least the "air" in CCIW Chat is mostly breatheable. Sadly, the atmosphere often found in other rooms is toxic (sort of like verbal wind-breaking).  :-[

I just had the wierdest experience here.  I was cycling back through the last two pages to see what the conversation has been this weekend.  There was this post from April about going to a dance club on her birthday, which then disappeared when I scrolled back up the page.  Am I going insane or was that like an old post that reappeared to make me laugh?  The boards are too mysterious for me to understand.

Oh, it's my signature. I just changed it Sunday; my birthday was on Saturday. I just thought the quote was funny cause if I was going to tell someone they were attractive, I probably wouldn't curse at them. ::) Gotta love being hit on by random drunk people.  ??? :D

Is this your sly way of hinting that you're actually going to grace a CCIW gym or two with your presence next year, April? While of course I look forward to sitting with you and analyzing a game or two, I especially like the way that you're going to fly across the country from southern California to attend CCIW games and thus make Chuck look bad.  :D

If I was Chuck, I would be a MIAA and NCAC and OAC (okay, maybe not that last one) :D expert by now. But that's just because I am crazy and love basketball a little too much.  :-[

I missed the CCIW games a lot this year, Greg... almost as much as I missed the people. I still can't believe I didn't see anything as. It's not that much more expensive or time consuming to fly out from Cali than it was from Virginia. I was just incredibly busy getting adjusted to living out here and my new job. I'm going to try to come to at least one of the Pfund/MIAA Challenge/CCIW Conf Tourney at the very least. Preferablly all of them, plus some MWC and WIAC games, and a few other favorite away conference games thrown in but you know...  :D ;)

Besides, I definitely need to take you to Culvers.  :D :D :D

I would just like to comment that the relatively recent detente between Greg and Dennis has, IMO, improved both the tone and content in this room by a large degree.  I hope it continues into the season and beyond.  Applause to you both.

And applause also to April on the occasion of her birthday.  :)

if Strzemp turns into half the player of Woods, EC is going to be tough to handle, as though I was only 10 while watching him, he was an absolute force. We also have to remember Abdul-Haqq didn't play any of the "4" during the cciw, as he switched positions at the beginning of his last year at EC before blowing out his knee, thus his game had changed quite a bit from his play from a year before.
Lets hope Strzemp gets 20 minutes a game, but this depends on who the coaching staff brings in as well as the progression or Jared Hintzsche, who can be a very effective shot blocker and rebounder (or needless to say, if Andrew Mohney played 10-15 min a game, Hintzsche could very well do so as well).

David Parkyn isn't the next NPU president yet.

I haven't seen any discussion yet about the key issue in this whole Presidential search.  This guy's last name is Parkyn.  The new President of "The Park" is Parkyn!?!  That's like having a hotel employee named Bellman or a cashier named Register.  That's awesome.

Ah yes, it all makes sense to me now.  Was there any mention of your posting up profile picture in this pick up?  I hear that reference goes over well.

So is this new found sophistication a subtle hint that you passed the bar, DC?

Happy birthday, April; now you're older than me... for a few months anyway.

Diehardfan  -  What?  No SLIAC games????? :'( :'(

If April makes it out to St Louis for a SLIAC game, I'll drive across the barren wasteland that is Missouri and show up too.

I assume that Parkyn will have a reserved "parkin'" slot on campus. Won't he?

Gents:

I hate to be critical, but as a fairly objective observer, the discourse on this board sucks.  :(

At least on the MWC board, we can balance Waffle House and basketball.  You guys take yourselves way too seriously.

Probably why Trost left.  ::)

Hey guys, any of you know Indiana basketball that much.  I just got word that ENC from my CCC just hired Jon Yeh, an assistant from Grace College (NAIA in Indiana).  Anybody know anything?  I heard he was a big time high school player in Wisconsin in the early 90's, but I don't really know anything about him.  That's what happens when these schools hire people from outside New England.

One of my info. sources on the IWU situation recently sniffed me out and shut me off!  Found a new one though and I am back in business. :)

Sounds like two Big Ten assistants put in for the IWU job:
