What can I say? I got inside information.

Raridon's interview in Bloomington is Tuesday.  Tharp is tomorrow.  Rose was Friday, and Baines is Thursday.

Augiedad: Does that mean that neither the Hope assistant nor Johnny Wooden has a chance? Please clarify.

titan2000

I would be shocked if Tharp doesn't get offered the job;  I assume that if the pay and terms are decent he would take it.

I bet Gillespie, Schultz, Gresz, Conger, Youngblood and that lunatic Arsenault are all cheering him on, hoping he leaves the MWC so they have a shot at winning a title before 2010.  Otherwise LU will be a dynasty on a New Roop Order level.   ;D

Now, since we're prognosticating, who will replace Tharp at LU ?  Although the finances are pretty low (I'd guess), the team is stacked.  Would be a great place to be, in a great town.

I hope Tharp is back to craft that dynasty, but if he's not, I wish the best for him and his family.  He is a class act.   :)

It's up to eight, April.

Maybe they have a life and we don't.

I voted for Bridges, because I thought it was funny; I really don't care either.  Make me #9.

I'm willing to let Bridges decide between either Benjy Taylor or Keith Peterson.

By the way, how come John Baines is identified in the poll as a former player for the Titans and Ron Rose isn't? Like Baines, the fact that Rose used to play for Bridges at Wesleyan is one of his primary qualifications.

Because I didn't know that? I'm really more in the "who freeking cares category, but I voted for Baines because I don't want Tharp to get it *makes innocent face*, and I liked how sweet the Elmhurst fans were). If Pat (or someone with more authority than me) is willing to add that fact on there, I'm more than happy to have it there. In order to get the poll on the main CCIW page I had to create a new topic and then merge it, and once I merged it, I no longer have access to it. I don't have that restriction on most boards, but on this one, and the MIAA one, I do. (At least I didn't accidentally change the name of the CCIW board when I merged them though...  :D)

Tom Crean is having a press conference to announce he's not interested in the IWU job.  (U of I fans will get that one)

titan2000

Bob Huggins just got a job or he might be an option too.

How 'bout Pat Riley? He might be forced to fire himself by the end of this playoff round....

onthesidelines

Nobody here has any interest in Huggins. He can't seem to graduate anyone. As for Riley, we're only interested if he can bring the Big Diesel with him for his final years of eligibility.

LU_nut

As all the CCIW folks can see, I am an LU Fan.

I hate to say that I agree with Titan that IWU is nuts if they do not try and get Tharp.  I do not know if Augie dad is correct in saying that he is a candidate.  I will say this.  I have watched ton of d3 ball and I think he is the best coach at the level.  I might irratitate a few IWU folks in saying this, but there is no way that he does not win at least one National Championship with the crew that IWU had the past 3 years.  He took a team that has crummy facilities and a crummy environment for recruiting into a top 10 program in the country.

Keep in mind that I saw the terrific Stevens Point teams of the past 3 years......they were good...IWU had more talent this year.

I seriously hope that IWU goes a different direction and Tharp stays at LU.  I have always felt that if he leaves for a d2 or d1 assistant job, that was to be....if he leaves for another d3 job, the admin at LU should be pummelled for letting him go( I doubt it as they will probably be glad to buy another violin vs., pay a b-ball coach who has brought pride to an university which has a rich tradition of being losers in sports)

LU nut

ps:  the dude at NC has proven he can coach (and that Benji could not)  he has not proven that he can recruit.......if they do not get some new guards, they will disappoint next year

The Roop

I might not remember it word for word, but I recall Bob Huggins saying something like this when he was fired from UC.

"Hey, I was hired to win games. Academics wasn't my agenda."

Absolutely classic.

Nut,

According to the commonality down at the Nickel. LU needs to get with the program and charge $2 or $3 a head for admission. Then they'd be able to build a new gym. Hmmmmmm $3 a head would bring in roughly $45,000 a year, in years they host the conference tournament. So sure, why not. Nothing like a brand new $45,000 arena to attract recruits.  :D  ;D  :D

They might be better off selling some of the violins......................

Except he slurred the words. ;)
