diehardfan, I think your numbers are off.  I'm quite sure Harris makes well more that $50K as I know the IWU and Augie jobs pay quite a bit more than that (somewhere between $60-70K).

Ah! A Hiker Jim one liner... thanks Jim, my week is now complete!  :-* ;)

And yeah, I thought the idea mentioned a while back that coaches, etc. don't read this board was pretty funny. I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that I've had a coaches actually come up to me and ask me if I was diehardfan. :D Plus, I mean, there was that whole article where Rees bashed the board as being irrelevant... and he would know... how exactly? I don't pretend that they pour over it, but apparently they do drop by every now and then....  :)

To give you an example of the type of conversation over the last week...

I was offered the job, but I turned it down because I don't like the color green.  So the position is still open.   ... even though there have been rumors that just about EVERY top candidate has both accepted the job and already moved to Bloomington.

Maybe, it really isn't easy being green.

Maybe the sun doesn't really rise and set in Bloomington, I.L.

Who'da thunk it.

Not anyone reading this board.

You would think everyone would be flocking to live in Henry Blakes hometown.

Tharp will stay, that's my prediction.

Bridges will coach a year as everyone decides to pass on the job before its offered.

What do you locals think about that ?

Titan32

augie dad - It's a fact that the IWU job pays less than 50k a year, honestly its more in the ballpark of 40k.  No clue what Bridges was making at the time of his departure or other perks given to the coach, but that is the starting salary.

It is easy to see why a coach like Raridon would choose to stay in Naperville if he has a good situation there.  The Titans have great tradition, but its clear several CCIW teams are committed to basketball more than in years past.

This just is not accurate information...not even close to being accurate.

I heard it pays about a million per, but I thought everyone knew that already.

The job pays ~ 62k plus the few thousand from running the camps in the summer.  Not much if you want to get someone to stay for a long period of time.  The salary sets up a stepping stone situation.

Based on the total package Rose would take a pay cut when you consider the retirement benefits.

What is interesting Dennis - and I am more guilty than anyone about this - is that ALL of the discussion on the IWU coaching search has come from non-IWU people.  Scroll back on this board since the news of Trost's departure, and there has barely been a peep from the IWU camp.  Outside of Titan Q's Pantagraph link recently and mention of Bridges heading to Lincoln, NE, the IWU fans have really been quiet.

Those of us non Titans around the CCIW like to pin all of the IWU talk on the IWU fans, yet it appears even when they are not around there is a lot of interest in an IWU issue.   I guess the rest of us need to get a life. :)
