I am quite pleased - relieved - to learn that I will be not be flying in that questionable aircraft I posted earlier.  My travel partners let me sweat out that other photo for about a week.  It appears our plane type is:

There is a decent chance I will be the only broadcaster in the country this season to fly to an in-region regular season Division III game in a TBM-700 to broadcast a web-only game.  Can't be sure though -- you never know how they roll at Hope and Calvin.

With Rose and Dain Swetalla probably out for that game

Augiefan, I think you mean Rorer and not Rose. Rose is perfectly healthy.

Just a random thought. I think OSU-Marion should hire Isaiah Thomas as their coach.

I think he'd be more suited to coach Lincoln. He could order another strangulation!

4 CCIW teams in the top 25 this week.  Nice!

Augustana @ #9
Wheaton @ #17
Carthage @ #18
North Central @ 24

Elmhurst isn't too far out of the mix, as they are in the "receiving votes" category.

Interesting that Wheaton only played one game for the week, the loss to Northwestern, and climbs 3 spots.  Hmm... not too much "pub" and weight to that loss, eh?

I can't remember the last time IWU wasn't at least included in the "receiving votes" category.

Well... yeah...  you know what I mean.   :P  I'm still transitioning from the CCIW football board to here so I'm a bit behind.  By about a week...

I am not a big "observer" of rankings and don't pay much attention to them, however I have been looking at the rankings and have a quick question.

Elmhurst is 7-1 with quality wins against UW Whitewater, and UW Oshkosh who was ranked #14 at the time.

NC is ranked #24 and only 5-1 I believe?

Can somebody explain why Elmhurst with a better record and quality wins is not in the top 25 and/or where NC currently is?

The other rankings I would agree with, just this one kind of makes me ponder?

Mr. Ypsi

Elmhurst has the two WIAC wins, but check the other wins!  And the next three games won't do much either (unless a heckuva lot of teams above them lose.

IF they beat Augie in their first conference game (and win the next 3, of course), they will be ranked.  And Augie would stay in, so there is hope of 5 CCIW teams simultaneously in the top 25.  (Perhaps David could enlighten us on whether that has ever happened - if so, I imagine it was the WIAC.)

David Collinge

According to a quick glance at my database, no conference has ever had five teams ranked in the same week.  The CCIW has had four teams ranked twice: this week, and Week 11 last year.  The WIAC has pulled this trick about a half-dozen times.  No other conference has had as many as four teams ranked simultaneously.

I feel like this has been discussed thoroughly before, but I can't find it.  It would probably have been Valentine's week of this year (because last year's Week 11 poll was released on Feb. 13, 2006.)

Jaybird--------Get ready to be REALLY ticked off--------------------------->

NCC is NOT 5-1. In fact, they are 5-2

Now, try this one out------------------------>

Lawrence is only 4-3 and is ranked #14!  ???   ???   ???

Any thoughts about that?
