Ain't gonna happen, Bob. My man Jay Alexander is going to put the clamps on Nate Swetalla. All that Popeye spinach that's being mailed to Jay from Ypsilanti, MI is gonna pay off for him tonight.

I have my first CCIW fantasy player action tonight.  Looking for 16 points and 5 rebounds out of Nate Swetalla vs NPU.

First of all, you guys are killing me by talking about the Fantasy League when I can't. Oh well, it's a new year, bring on the stalkers.  :D

Between Jay and my boy Nick Williams, Nate doesn't have a prayer.  8)

On the other hand, it will look pretty bad that I recommeded that Bob switch out Chris Drennan for Nate if he then tanks.  :-X :D

Anyone know why Trey Bowens did not start in Carthage's last game (vs Lewis), after starting in the first 9?

http://www2.carthage.edu/athletics/mens/basketball/lewis.htm

I'm sure that one of the Carthage folks knows the answer to that question, but I'm guessing that it was a disciplinary matter; Bowens was probably late to practice or something, and as a result Bosko had him begin the game on the bench. The only important fact is that Bowens played his usual starter's allotment (29 minutes, which is actually more than the 26.8 minutes per game he usually plays).

Speaking as the fantasy league GM who has Bowens in his starting lineup, I can honestly say that I am not concerned. ;)

After being ineligible twice in 2 years the good thing is its not grades this time.

Anyone know if any CCIW teams suffered any academic casualities at semester break--especially among any starters or others playing significant minutes?

I knew it! :P I guarantee I'll have cause to regret it in less than a year... I just... have.... no... resolve.... ::) :D Besides, between my Wheaton BB website and my Myspace page, it's not exactly like I'm anonymous on the web anyway. :-X

Now if I could only get normal guys to be attracted to me instead of inappropriately old, lame and/or crazy ones, I'd be set. :D

Well, by all means, hang out here, April!  Certainly there's nobody in here that fits that description!  ::)

Glad to have you back.  :)

Hello April----

I'm new since last year so I'm not totally familiar with your history.
I'm (inappropriately?) oldER (NOT OLD  :)), semi lame (ACL surgery), certainly at least half crazy, but---NOT a stalker!
Anyway, I know enough to know you are very much admired on here, and that everyone will be better off to have the benefit of both your opinion and knowledge.  ;D

One would hope this information is irrelevant because you are not attracted to me. :D

Since I will invariably have to stop posting again at some point due to the soap opera craziness that follows me wherever I go... and then will invariably not have the resolve to stay off the board... and again and again... blah blah, etc... let's skip the welcome backs everyone, shall we? :P

Incidentally, in CCIW Fantasy League news, Johnnie Standard has averaged roughly 28 FPPG in the last three games. He was already a steal in the third round when I drafted him when he was averaging 17 FPPG but he's really been stepping it up. You guys don't stand a chance. At all. ;)

Mr. Standard has really been coming on. He will certainly be a nice compliment to Raymond when he returns.

Glad to see April back on the board.  I hope some of the "morons" have cleaned up their act and made it welcome for her.  She adds great color to the boards and is a great body of knowledge, not just  a Wheaton supporter.

Observations from the boxscore:

* Sheldon Evans, a starter for NPU in all 11 non-conference games, did not start.  He played 19 minutes off the bench.

* Augustana led by 11 at the half and was never really challenged in the 2nd.

* Looks like North Park had a lot of trouble with Augie's pressure defense -- 8 assists/19 turnovers for NPU.

* Nice game for Dain Swetalla - 15 pts, 7 reb (5-9 FG).

* North Park shot just 36% from the field, including 1-8 from 3.

* North Park had no one in double-figure scoring.

* Augie shot 26 FT's to NPU's 17...both shot it poorly from the charity stripe.

* Nice games off the bench for point-guard Matt Pelton, Alex Washington, and Chandlor Collins -- these three  combined for 20 points on 7-9 from the field.  Pelton was 2-2 from 3 and Washington 4-4 from the FT line.

I welcome April back as well, although the old and lame comments fit me pretty well. Even more so I welcome an Augie victory over a very improved NPU team. I do not look forward to playing them on the road layer in the season.
