Wait, who's naming the court after Bo Ryan?  Wisconsin or Platteville?

Platteville.......But given Wisconsin's past basketball history and what he's done there they might name their court after Bo Ryan someday.

Will be in attendance for my first CCIW contest tonight as Augustana plays @ Wheaton.  Sounds like it should be a evenly matched game.  Does anyone have insight into this game who has seen both teams play this year?

Also, on a side note, Coach Harris and Wheaton landed gaurd Andrew Jahns from Wheaton North High School for next season.  Jahns is a versitle gaurd who can play both PG and SG.  I am guess that they will be using him at the point when he gets to college because Raymond has two years of eligibility left.  He should be a nice addition to the Thunder!

Does anyone know what happened to the Augustana sports broadcasting on WAUG? I can't see them on Shoutcast anymore.  :-\

I logged onto the Wheaton Video stream and got a great classical Music concert!

I'm going nuts listening to the announcer pronounce Anthony Lenoir's name "Len-warr"..maybe that's how you really pronounce it, but I've never said it and its grating!

Elmhurst with a huge 72-62 win at Carthage.  Road wins are hard to come by but the #14 Jays take down the Redman!  According to Carthage play by play guy, "one of the poorest officiated games we've seen in a long time."  Good win Jays - Keep it up! 12 in a row and 2-0 in conference.
Go Elmhurst!

Augustana beats Wheaton tonight in Crusaderland.  The quickness of Augie's guards was just too much for the Thunder.  Wheaton led 16-10 midway through the first half when the pressure from Augie's guards turned the game around.  Wheaton had no answer at guard.  Mohan saw about 30 seconds of action in the first half for Wheaton, drew two quick fouls and grabbed some bench.  Raymond was not a factor in the first half as the quickness of the Augie guards bothered him.  He took one really awkward shot that made me think that perhaps he is still hampered by a leg injury - he wore a bandage on his calf.  Wheaton missed at least a dozen shots in the paint in the first half as Augie's interior defense did not match the intensity of their guards.

It's easy to see how a team with quick guards would give Augie fits, because they rely so much on their guards on both ends of the court.

d_p:

You just got done saying that the "quickness of Augie's guards was just too much for the Thunder."  Then you go on to say that you can see how a team with quick guards would give Augie fits.  Obviously Augie's guards were quick enough to give Wheaton fits.  I guess I just don't quite understand where you're coming from here.

North Park wins at North Central tonight and I couldn't be happier. They weren't the worst I've heard, but I got sick of the announcers not giving the Vikings any credit. Everything the Cardinals did was because of them taking the Vikings lightly and the poor officiating. The "color" man was particularly tough to listen to as a Vike fan. Great win by NPU tonight...great, great win.

congratulations to north park on a stunning victory - i was listening to the game on radio coming home from the wheaton game and it sound to me like the vikings found the cardinals unprepared.  Stunning.

Congrats to NP on a great win.

Seems IWU has a tough year upcoming with troubles winning at Shirk and major issues over ball protection and turnovers.  The Titans made a gallant comeback tonight against Millikin but just couldn't get all the way back after playing poorly earlier in the game, especially early in the second half.  Sure sounds like Dwyer is needed to re-enforce the guard, ball-handling ranks.   If you can't initiate the offence, it's hard to take advantage of your strong frontcourt players' advantage.

It's going to be a back and forth year if NP and Millikin can beat anyone on any given night.

Woe is me... wooooeeee iiissss me.  :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

Congrats to Augie on the victory. Our guys just didn't want it enough. :-\

Congrats to Millikin and NPU as well for their stunning road victories too! How many games have been lost at the Shirk so far this year... are we approaching a record?

Elmhurst seems to be emerging as the clear conference favorite early.... but if tonight is any indication, this is going to be one seriously CRAZY year!!!!  :o
