Q, I have been posting scores on the D3hoops.com scoreboard page  most of the conference season. Just a heads up as an alternative/supplement to the in game updates board.

I won't be near a computer tonight though, so anyone listening to the NCC/Wheaton game would be my new best friend if they posted scores, esp to that game. Tonight I am basically going to be the girl version of the guy who sneaks off to the bathroom during a date with the wife to check on the game score in the kitchen. :D ;)

Incidentally, I have links to all the broadcasts around the conference on my website at wheatonhoops.googlepages.com/broadcasts. The website is still very much in its embarassingly yucky, crappy beginning stages due to lack of free time for me,  but if I remember correctly, the broadcast page is basically done, and its a nice thing for me cause it means I don't have to be searching for a link at 725 on game night. Which I have done many, many times... :D

Mark, to answer your question, Augustana apparently broadcasts, but only home games. I haven't been able to find the new site though as the old one has become invalid since the beginning of the season though . :(

A slightly different subject, I am getting pretty sick of some of the big men in this conference acting like they are "too cool for school" during warmups. I don't remember Kasten, Moo, Wiertel, or heck, even me, behaving that way. The attitude on some of these guys in shocking. Loaf around during warm ups, jack up 3's from 5 feet behind the line with that slow, "I'm never going to shoot like this in the real game but everyone wants to know how much of a stud I am so I'll do it while I have a captive audience" motion, go over to the webcast table and check out stats, clown around in the layup line, try to block other players layups and then have a big laugh about it,  and it's always the big men. What's the deal there?

I think it is unfair to rip apart the "big guys" for how they warmup...after all they are warmups and everybody has a different routine for how they get into a rhythm or set for a game.  And if they aren't shooting all nonchalantly when it actually counts--which in case you forgot, is during the actual game--why do you care?  Not quite sure what you meant about "clowning around," because I don't quite see that...I mean God forbid if these guys are actually having fun while they are playing the sport they love.  It is supposed to be fun, isn't it.  Don't be bitter because your time to shine is over.  Simply mentioning how you played or would have played is just as condesending.  One last thing--"too cool for school?"  Really?  Don't date yourself--no one says things like that anymore...

Can't believe I hadn't seen this until now! Anyway, I know what I'm looking at when I see that type of attitudes during warmups. You want to come on here and defend your friend, fine, I can respect that, but don't act like someone doesn't think they're pretty hot stuff when it's obvious they do. Don't make me use any more old timey slang on you.

All of the CCIW games that I've seen have a three-man crew.  There is no way a CCIW game, or any college game for that matter, could be officiated well utilizing only a two-man crew.  Just too much action happening.

It's actually quite common for two-man crews to ref JV games in the CCIW. But you'll only see a two-man crew in a CCIW varsity game if there is an unexpected emergency that prevents one of the officials from showing up without being able to enlist a last-minute replacement.

3 man crews are good as long as the Officials are doing their jobs well.  When I ref hockey games, we have 4 officials.  Me, another referee, and then 2 linesmen.  Our linesman watch for offsides and icings, me and the other ref watch for fouls and control the flow of the game.  Even then, we don't always catch everything.  :o

In a matinee at the Griz, NPU wins in overtime over Millikin, 76-72. The hosts erased a late eight-point North Park lead and Drew Gensler forced the extra session by knocking down a trey with only three seconds left in regulation, but NPU led almost the entire way in overtime.

Stephano Jones had a big afternoon for NPU, leading the Vikings with 18 points. Anthony Lenoir added 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Nick Williams and Uriah Rice chimed in with 12 and 11, respectively. Gensler led all scorers with 20, and was joined in double figures by Zach Ott with 14 and Vincent Brock and Mike Gavic with 11 apiece. Ott led the Big Blue in rebounds with 7.

NPU outshot Millikin, 47.5% to 44%. The Big Blue enjoyed a slight edge on the boards, 27-26, but turned the ball over 21 times to NPU's 13. Millikin made hay at the charity stripe, going 23-28 while North Park could only muster 16 FTs out of 25 attempts.

North Park has now exceeded the Prikkel Quota by winning its fourth game after only eight CCIW contests. But they mysteriously continue to play much better on the road than at home; NPU is 3-1 when they climb aboard the bus, but only 1-3 in the crackerbox. The Vikings and the Cardinals are certainly running counter to the old adage that home cooking is the best kind there is.

At least the Vikings finished this one strong. That's a good sign for a team that's been struggling to close out games.

Unfortunately, wrse is evidently having some technical difficulties.  At least mine's not clear anyway.  I tried the link from kikn.com and the link for the augie student section and can't get either of those to work.  Anyone else having problems with the wrse.com broadcast?  I really enjoy listening to Elmhurst game since I'm a fan of Brent Ruch's.

Was Capalbo silent again?

Here's the box score: http://www.northpark.edu/athletics/mbasketball/stats/2007stats/1-27m.htm

Capalbo scored 2 points, both on free throws, in 10 minutes of play.

Augustana up 13 at the half  >:(
Ruch has 14 for Elmhurst
Michael 7
10 turnovers have killed us
Augie  Delp has I think 5 3 pointers to lead the team.

Thanks for the update jaybird, it's really hard to understand all the jarbled mess.  Occasionally I can make out things but not getting all of it for sure.

I am listening to WRSE and it is not coming in very clear.  It sounds like a muffled phone. Similar to the movies where you have the villain calling the hero for ransom, and he uses a phone muffler.  I can make out the action and hear the important things, but the reception is not clear.  Oh well.  Hopefully Elmhurst can tighten up the defense and get back into the game. Delp can't stay this hot for 3 point land for ever.

Glad to hear it's not just me with the problem.  I would think they can figure out how to stop him from shooting the 3's or at least hope they do! LOL  After listening to their games and the way they play this year, I've got confidence in the bluejays!!!  And I'll say after watching the local high school team (Ruch's old high school rival) this week, anything is possible!  The team was down and had only won 3 games this season, and they ended up tying it up and taking it to OT and then won the dang thing and it was against one of the tougher teams in the area and they have very very rarely beat them.  I'm talking about Le Roy and Ridgeview if you know this area.  My son graduated a year ahead of Ruch at Blue Ridge and then I moved to Le Roy so my daughter will graduate from here in another year.

I just wish I could understand this mess on wrse right now, but guess I'll have to wait till Wednesday.  I'll be able to watch them live again next Saturday night when they make the trek to IWU.  That's where Ruch has his "own" cheering section besides the normal Elmhurst fans.
