I really think that if North Park can play hard and smart tomorrow, they'll beat Augie. They can definately do it.

Well put. Boy, if these guys could have your half time speech, they might be able to pull it out tonight.

I have kind of mixed emotions about this year's turn-out at games.  At almost every game I've been to there have been many more fans than two years ago.  That is obviously a step in the right direction.  I think we NP fans to fill the place we have have been able to get the team over the edge on those close games against Elmhurst and Carthage.  But Scream and Greg are right in that it just takes some time to get the students back in to what we see as tradition.  I don't think any of the undergrads now really remember what a packed student section, and legitimate crazy section look like.  If Park finishes strong this year I think next year we can expect an improvement.

Knarocky-- you hit it on the head with "how can Augie lose by double digits at Elmhurst and how EC fans were wondering the same thing."
I knew going into the game in R.I. that it was going to be a challenge to get a road win, but I didn't think the game was going to be that lopsided.
I think that is what was more disappointing to me.  Not that we lost, because Augie is a great team, but more that we didn't seem to "want to be there",  which is a sign of the team's heart.
I think Elmhurst has a great team, but at times they can get out of rhythm.  Hopefully they can return to normal form tonight at home.

I remember a poster bringing up Bosko's son Steve recently, just wanted to add a little of what I know. As was stated earlier, he's a great high school two-sport athlete, and just recently won the Holy Rosary Male Athlete of the year (given to best male and female scholar athlete in Kenosha.) The event is a pretty big deal with several celebrities like William Henderson, John Stocco, and an old Bears safety (I believe the name was Gayle.) Anyway, in a Kenosha News article a few days back after the Banquet, Steve said he's very excited to play basketball for his dad at Carthage. Steve's been a 4 year varsity player, playing primarily the point his first 3 years, and playing small forward this year. Steve's biggest assetts (in both basketball and football) is how smart he plays the game and his leadership. I agree that I think he'll most likely play the 2 guard at Carthage, and maybe a little 3. He's a legit 6'3'' and can score both inside and out. He was still undecided if he was going to join the Carthage football team as well, time will tell. Steve was also an all-state quarterback this past season.  What are some opinions about a player in college playing for his father, and the obvious challenges of a coach coaching his son. I know it worked out for Bryce Drew at Valpo, but it has to be extremely challenging on both sides.

And/or seafaring marauders who roamed & raided in search of plunder-----or victory!  :)

Augie is supposed to have the game tonight at North Park on their student radio, WAUG (http://www.shoutcast.com/directory/?s=waug&numresult=25&x=17&y=16).  We'll see if the stream works tonight.  Should be a great game.

On the plus side, NPU must have a record numbers of posters on D3Hoops right now.

Nope, we've just been lurking for the past 3 years...

Which game tonight has the most chance of an (loosely put) "upset" tonight?
There have been a few North Park posters on here regularly, besides Greg.
I agree, that when your team is doing well there are more posters and more chatter to be had.  For example, look at IWU.  I can recall just a few years ago, this board was loaded with the green nation.  Now, you have Titan Q, IWUGolfer 13, Lee, and perhaps 1-2 others that post about the Titans.
I think each school is represented well on this board, moreso than the d3football  board.  I think this may be due to the CCIW BBall league being a little more competitive top-bottom than the FB league?
Good luck to all teams tonight.

They don't have one, sorry. They are actually the only team in the conference that does neither game broadcasts nor live stats (Millikin home games) . It's really a shame too, given the strong basketball tradition of the school and the fact that it's a good way to stay in touch with the alumni.

Thanks Diehard...Has anyone had any luck with the Augie link...I get it to open, and then I have silence....:(

I do not believe Augie broadcasts road games. If so, we will have to sweat this one out, unless someone reports from the game.
