In this corner, wearing the orange gloves, the challenger, in from California by way of Wheaton, April Lee. Labeled "The Voice" of CCIW Chat by her opponent, and------------

In the opposite corner, wearing the blue gloves, the champion, from North Park in Chicago, Gregory Sager. Known as "The (condescending) Jerk" by the challenger and her fans.

Tonight's fight, scheduled for 12 rounds, is for the D3Hoops Championship of the CCIW.................

No holes (or holds) barred.   ;D ;D

And I thought I was the only instigator in CCIW chat.  +K for you

Not really trying to be an "instigator."   :-X
Just an attempt to interject a little "humor" following my initial reaction to the earlier interaction between April and Gregory.   :)

I do appreciate the +K.   ;D

petemcb

AndOne, here's another one for you.  +k.

Doesn't all this boil down to April's view of GG the man versus Greg's view of GG the game coach?  I don't think it too reductionistic to say we're talking apples and oranges here.  Let's have a few air kisses on each other's cheeks and move on.  How 'bout them Bulls?

AndOne

Thank you Pete.
And I agree.

About the Bulls---Right on! I just wish they didn't pick the 1st home game vs Detroit to play like a junior high team. If they would have defended their home court, they would be in the driver's seat right now. I think that loss was a combination of poor coaching/substitutions by Skiles and poor execution by the Bulls players. Hopefully they'll play tonight like they did in the last game at Detroit.

ok CCIW friends   Trivia time (at least for me)  -  as I was scrounging around for D3 schedules, I came across the fact that Concordia Wisconsin coach Wayne Rasmussen graduated in 1960 - making him in the 69-70 year old age bracket  -  is he the oldest active D3 coach?   Ahhh to have that level of energy at that age!!
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Come on Coach Mckinney at Fontbonne isn't a day over 65...  ok, is Coach Rasmussen the SECOND oldest coach....... ::) ::)

The Wheaton basketball team (or most of the team anyway) is currently on a 2.5 week Sports Ministry trip to South Africa. They've visited a squatter camp and numerous schools thus far, and it sounds like they spending most of their time giving basketball clinics and sharing their testimonies.

From the sounds of it, a lot of their games are being played on concrete, so I can't imagine this trip makes a whole lot of sense from a basketball standpoint (there's some major potential for injury there!) but it sounds like they're learning and experiencing some important things, and touching many lives.

The more time I've had since my own time in Africa, the more I realize how much everyone would benefit from a solid amount of time in a third world country... it totally transforms how you view the world and your place in it. Life's trials are colored with an entirely new perspective. And so far, only one of them has gotten sick, and there have been no injuries!

The football team has been doing this kind of thing for quite a while (www.wfmp.org), and I'm really glad the Wheaton men's basketball team started doing this as well. I believe this trip to South Africa is the second of it's kind, as few years back, the guys went to Taiwan.

I really admire them for taking the time out of their summers to do this, and hope you guys will stop by the Wheaton Athletics official site during this lull of the off season to check up on their progress!
Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan
What are Parkers now supposed to chant after every NP vs WC game, "Let's go enjoy tobacco products off-campus? - Gregory Sager
We all read it, but we don't take anything you say seriously - Luke Kasten
