Q,

Be careful when you typecast people.  To Greg, he might be a superstar.   ::)

The term I would use to describe Goehrke would certainly not be "superstar", and it would not be as polite as "role player". ::)

Can any of you provide any background on Patrick Bernhard of Sleepy Hollow?

No, but I'll bet he's a good passer. They really know how to throw around the ol' pumpkin at Sleepy Hollow.

I miss April too.

I mean, you know, I miss March a little more. And I miss November and December. But I miss April.

You forgot to announce that you're here all week, and that we should tip the waitress. :D

Zach Freeman has started a blog about his experiences playing professionally in Germany for Phoenix Hagen...

I especially like this video of the 6-7 Freeman getting catapulted into a lake...

Sager/Titan/etc...

As best you can tell, how many CCIW alumni are currently playing professionally abroad?

.......to the soccer board?

Most of my Internet time last week was devoted to tapping into the vast reservoir of angst I shared with the rest of the followers of the Chicago National League Baseball Club as the Marlins once again made my life and the lives of millions of other Cubs fans absolutely miserable. Fortunately, the Brewers proved more inept than the Cubs -- although neither team can hold a candle to the Mets in the late-season ineptitude department -- and last night a happy ending was writ here on the North Side.

Q, Thanks for posting the Zach Freeman blog. It was fun reading about his view of living in Germany. I loved the pictures, the donar made me hungry. We've been back in the states since June, I miss the donars and several other things about living there, but I'm still really happy to be home.

I have gone from an Augie aunt to a UMHB Mom, so "Go Cru"!! I guess I should make my way over to the football board.  I'll be back here to root for Augie when the season starts. Hope everyone had  a great summer.

For all you BlueJay fans, looks like the BlueJay Classic is history.  That's really too bad, been going to those since I was a little kid.
@ UW-Osh-Kosh and vs. Hope in Florida should be fun.
Simpson could be a disaster if they play the trap (as EC lost its best ballhandler), though I do like how the rest of the non-conference should play out.

Yeah, I was going to comment upon this as well. I'm disappointed that Elmhurst's eliminating the Bluejay Classic. It always did a nice job of making up somewhat for the lull that occurs in the local small-college basketball scene during the holidays. Plus, it always seemed to feature interesting teams from far-flung locales: Wooster, Buena Vista, Buffalo State, Olivet, etc.

Late nite

Wow---Where is the inside scoring going to come from, other than Gant?---Saw Sexauer play last year and he was more of a high post than a low post player---Chamernik is quick inside, but at 6'4" will have trouble against the bigger front lines---I could see them playing a lot of 4 perimeter players and Gant roaming the lane, much like Stevens Point and Carroll played---Fun to watch and tough to defend
