Charming has nothing on posting a box score from a game.

Come on DUDES, you attend a tech school put up some numbers on the tech equipment

That's part of Caltech's charm. Also, don't expect CIT to update their results anytime soon; the last score posted on their web site is from Nov. 17 -- 6 games ago.

Seems up to date to me:

I was looking here:

What do you want from me? I just went to Oxy. I'm no rocket scientist.

Wow, the old seperate web site trick from Cal Tech gets the Oxy guys everytime ::)

Well, I must admit that I did not expect Elmhurst to go 2-0 in Florida.  The games that I have seen, I think Saris is a better fit for the Elmhurst offense than Childs.  Childs does handle the ball better, but I like the intensity you get from Saris.  He is susceptible to Freshman mistakes, but I think playing with Ruch and Burks really will help him out.
I think Augie and Elmhurst are pretty unique and seem to be very similar. Common opponents and a common work ethic,  should be a great battle all year between the two.

Went to Quantum Hoops site, but nowhere do I see how one can purchase a copy of the DVD  -   any idea????
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Patience is a virtue.  The DVD hasn't been released yet.  Rick Greenwald, the film's director, was a guest on Hoopsville this week, and he discusses the plans for upcoming screenings and DVD releases.  You might want to download the podcast (part 3) and give it a listen.

I think the Thunder will have something to say to these two before the season concludes.  :) ;)

"Trinity is going to win 20 or 21 games," said Carthage coach Bosko Djurikovic. "They don't play in a league that's as good as the CCIW, so when we make a trip like this, we expect to succeed. Half a loaf isn't good enough. We have a chance to finish this trip 2-0, and that's what we want."

Tough loss to a buc team from an "inferior" conference... c'mon coach, let's not be dumb.

I look forward to each new Carthage press release to get Bosko's latest.  Between the season preview, player profiles, and press release quotes, he's on a roll this year.

While on the Carthage site yesterday, I learned that "...there are no better shooters in our conference..." than Sean Fendley.

Man, if Norm Eash said this kind of stuff, the football board would be up for grabs for a week or so.

Q, you are right about Norm. the difference is Norm doesn't say this stuff very often. He sneaks his occasional barbs in like any good politician. For Carthage, it seems everyone has come to expect Bosko to say stuff like this. Its amazing some of the stuff he says.

Late nite

Is Caltech a college or a spa in Calif that schools go to rediscover their confidence??---Don't get me wrong, 11/12 from the three point range would be unbelievable in practice, let alone a game---He should be proud---But, come on---I need no further proof of a reason that this school has gone on prolonged (that's an understatement) losing streaks

Mr. Ypsi

Late nite,

Show a bit of sympathy - can you imagine trying to get recruits admitted to Caltech? ;)

They almost certainly have more Nobel laureates on the faculty than they have d3 basketball wins, all time!  Most of their players not only weren't recruited by anyone else, most did not even play high school varsity basketball. :o

Late nite

My apologies---You're right---Too many Doogie Howsers, not enough Dwight Howards

In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Doogie was their starting center. ::)

Millikin beat Anderson tonight 110-104 in OT. Millikin's having a pretty good nonconference run for a team predicted to finish in the CCIW cellar.

Don't be deceived by Millikin's non-conference record. Yes, the Big Blue continue to win, and all that a team can do is win the games that are scheduled for it. But Millikin hasn't exactly faced a Murderer's Row of opponents:

resultopponent  scoreopp record
W@ Blackburn  66-52  1-6
WRose-Hulman  60-54  4-7
LAurora  74-80 (OT)  8-2
WMacMurray  82-59  1-7
WKnox  70-49  3-4
W@ Eureka  67-55  2-7
W@ Anderson110-104 (OT)  4-5
6-1TOTALS75.6-64.723-38 (.377)

Take out the team that beat the Big Blue (Aurora, 8-2), and the winning percentage of Millikin's opponents drops to .294 -- as I said, not exactly Murderer's Row.

The just-completed RDV Tournament down in Orlando featured a lot of quality players from some good D3 teams: Hope, UW-Oshkosh, Elmhurst, Roanoke, and Defiance, as well as Tri-State. So who was named MVP of the tourney? Surprise, surprise ... it was Jimmy Saris. Congrats to the unheralded Elmhurst freshman!
