Does anyone know the status of tomorrow night's Augie/Stevens-Point game at the Carver Center?  I'm sure it's on as of now, but a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Iowa for Sat afternoon and evening with potential for 4-8 inches of snow and gusting winds of 30mph.  My dilemma is... do I make the trek from the Chicago area Sat afternoon and when will we know the status of the game?  If anyone close to the school knows the status or a number to call tomorrow, pls let me know.  I would hate to miss such a big game!  Maybe DanSand would know???  Pls post if able...Need to support my Vikings!!!

OXYBOB,
Get in the game :-X Go to Calif or to Iowa ??? You choose :o :o
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

Hey Greg, I was surprised to see Saris as the lone member of EC on the Tournament Team also.  When I checked the site I was looking for Ruch, Burks, or possibly Hintzsche, but not Saris.  So indeed good for the youngster to get great experience in his first year.

I don't want to seem cruel here, but the Milllikin program can only go up.  They have hit rock bottom and now it's great to see that the Big Blue are starting to gather more wins.

AndOne,
Quick question  ???  the stats from the Lake Forest game against the Cardinals are removed from overall stats ??? ??? What's up
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

Not sure. Seems strange that one particular box score would just disappear. The person that posts them is Josh in the SI office. U may want to check with him. Its also available on the Lake Forest web site.

It was pretty obvious they chose one player from each team for the "all-tournament" team, which wasn't really a tournament in the first place.

What makes it particularly odd was that Saris had zero points the night before against Tri-State, but came up big with 10 points and the biggest shot of the game with 3minutes to go vs Hope.  Maybe he made other contributions that don't show up in the box score.

Brent Ruch had 31 and 20 rebounds

Anthony Pettaway for Defiance had 35 points, 28 rebounds with back to back double-doubles.

Tony Benford had 51 points in two losing efforts for Tri-State
........as a couple examples.

Looks like the Hope staff had a bit more pull in selecting MVP maybe. :-\ , very strange.

You know chicken isn't the opposite of tuna, salmon is the opposite of tuna because salmon swim against the current, and tuna swim with it.

WHAT?    ???    :o    :D

Did you make that up yourself tj, or did you have help on this one?

How do the newborn Salmon get downstream?  Float?

Either someone forgot to explain to tj (otherwise known as Mr Last Active at 3:19 PM today and Mr Last Post at 2:14 AM) that in the cycle of life birth comes before death, or he wasn't listening, or he just doesn't get it.

My money is on option #3!   ;D

Is Caltech a college or a spa in Calif that schools go to rediscover their confidence??---Don't get me wrong, 11/12 from the three point range would be unbelievable in practice, let alone a game---He should be proud---But, come on---I need no further proof of a reason that this school has gone on prolonged (that's an understatement) losing streaks

Caltech isn't any good. Everybody knows that. And yet North Central got on a plane and traveled 2,000 miles to play Caltech. NC beat them badly, then you mock CIT for not being any good, which you already knew.

OB----

I sincerely doubt you believe playing Caltech was the sole reason for North Central's trip to California, but that could be inferred from the tone of your statement.   :)

Oh joy!  Can we wait until then to read what NCAA records Grinnell's Coach A had in his game plan for the CalTech game?  :D ;)  Or maybe Coleman could start a new chat room "What NCAA Records could Grinnell set this season" ?  ??? ;D Or, maybe start a Grinnell NCAA Records Pick'em ? ::) Pick'em winners could win a DVD set of Grinnell's NCAA Records Highlights :P

A sobering thought - today is the first day of winter.  Not sure what the heck you call the last four weeks of snow, ice, and freezing rain!!

At least we're approaching CCIW conference season, which tends to make January and February go by much faster than they should.
