This might be the first time in conference history (Dennis?) that the whole league is 1-1 after two games.

Should be a great season.  Early congrats to Steve Djurokovich on his player of the week award.  Nick Williams would have had a great shot most weeks...

Yeah pretty crazy, I knew I'd get some response on that one. What I saw from North Park this week was a very athletic team that has go to players and leadership. I didn't see that from Augie. When they needed 2 points who are they going to? I saw a bunch of guys chucking up shots from 3 feet behind the arc and no one rebounding....
Augustana had a tough shooting night on the road.  It happens.

North Park lost to MSOE, Loras, and Robert Morris-Springfield (by 17)...and just a few days before the big Augie win played a barnburner vs Knox.  All accounts seem to suggest that NPU has very little inside presence, so they have plenty of issues too.

I'm sure NPU is good.  I'm not, however, ready to pass the torch from Augustana to North Park based on one head-to-head game.  Coach G and co. have been awfully good in the CCIW for a number of years now...NPU still has a lot of proving to do.

It's real early.

yeah it is, we shall see I suppose....could be wrong and NPU could go lay an egg this weekend....but we'll see.

Tell us how you would like your eggs - scrambled, basted or sunny side up?

Livestats are the greatest for following D3, especially those with running play by play.

Aside from horrible FT shooting, which let Elmhurst back in the game, Augie played well tonight. 20 points for Wessels to lead the Vikings, and 9-19 on threes, which is probably a season best helped win the game. FT shooting, an Augie strength so far this season, was atrocious tonight and almost cost Augie the game. Alex Washington in particular missed some big ones, as a team hitting close to 75% of the their FTs going into the game went 13-27 tonight.

Nevertheless, a must win game is in the win column. The Vikings are struggling without Delp and with Swatella not starting tonight, but the CCIW looks wide open this season, so holding home court looks like a must. Congrats to the Vikings for holding on and getting a big W against a terrific Elmhurst team.

Just signing on, so maybe somebody has covered this, but after tonight's results, there is an eight-way tie for both 1st and last place in the CCIW, everybody is 1-1.

Mr. Ypsi

Blowouts have always been fairly rare in the CCIW, but I wonder if there has ever been a day where the four games were decided by a total of 6 points?!

Fortuantely, at last report there have been no heart attacks. ;D

I sense that we are in for a long, delightful season.

Good perspective, Ypsi.

I'm looking at Ontario fishing spots - anything in the UP look really good?

I'm not much of a fisherman even in the summer, but the MIAC football board has gone to ice-fishing 24-7. ;D
