Question to the Prikkel, Q, Sager and Mr. B (or anyone else who might know):  What is the most teams that have made received a tournament bid from the CCIW.  And, what is the over-under on the number that make it this year?

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

Here is a list of all freshmen perimeter starters at IWU over the course of the last 20 years and their freshman season stats...

Point-guards:

Brian Martin, '89-90 (29 min) - 11.2 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 3.3 apg
Korey Coon, '96-97 (30 min) - 10.1 ppg, 2.0 rpg, 2.3 apg
Adam Dauksas, '02-03 (28 min) - 9.3 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 3.0 apg
Travis Rosenkranz, '07-08 (31 min) - 9.1 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 3.3 apg

Shooting-guard/wing:

David Kunka, '88-89 (31 min) - 8.2 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 3.1 apg, 11-37 3-pt (.297)
Bryan Crabtree, '93-94 (24 min) - 10.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.9 apg, 30-108 3-pt (.278)
Sean Johnson, '07-08 (30 min) - 10.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.6 apg, 31-73 3-pt (.425)

IWU's freshmen guards have had a nice season so far, and the nice thing is that it seems Rosenkranz and Johnson get better each time out.  I'm really looking forward to seeing these two develop.

Now if we could only get about 25 pounds on those freshmen big guys in a hurry...

Honest question, are there any Wheaties on the board that would care to share their thoughts on the situation regarding our Crazies?  I'm certainly not saying that the ejection of NP fans affected the outcome of the contest, but it really was pretty disgusting to kick college student out into the cold for not really doing anything wrong.  The only thing I could think was that the Host team was just embarrassed about being out-fanned in their home arena.

So the ejected students did absolutely nothing inappropriate?

Whats "inappropriate" at Wheaton may just be considered good clean fun at most other colleges/universities. After all, the NPU students, per Greg's post, were dancing!!  :o.  See my earlier post above covering Wheaton's philosophy covering this activity.

Several pages have rolled passed...

How did NP hold Raymond to 10 shots?

GB 7
NY 6

Why did Green Bay keep replacing the grass in the end zone?  They kept finding Moss there.  Moss would torch the Packers in the Super Bowl.  NYG has the pass rush that could slow Brady, Moss, et. al., but Manning's offense, especially w/o Shockey, won't muster enough.  A perfect season by the Pats will finally wipe the most overrated coach in the history of football, Don Shula, off my TV.

Alot of it comes down to what Greg has preached for a year and a half now... that Antonio Stevens is quite possibly the best perimeter defender in the league.  Basically whoever was guarding Raymond just stuck him hard, most often Tone, but also Dan Oz and Jason Gordon (I believe).  Part of it too, I think was that the refs did a very fair job of calling offensive fouls against Raymond, as well as not calling things that he intentionally drew, evidenced by the fact that he was only at the line 5 times.

What I was told today by a couple crazies was that, one issue was a student sitting on another students shoulders, and the other was the standard "pyramid" the crazies build during a timeout.  Other issues included "being on the floor" which really wasn't any different than the large group of Wheaties in the opposite corner all over the floor, as well as "being in the aisle" again, no different from the rest of the gym.  The problem (i.e. the majority of the Wheaton police force being called) really began when our students decided to question those things (pointing out the obvious double standard).  There were no announcements made over the loud speaker, there were no rules posted that prohibited those things, the guys and girls were having good clean fun, which Wheaton deemed innapropriate apparently.

So my comment about the lack of 3-second lane violations really stimulated much discussion. ???
Maybe the rules committee made the change and we just don't know about it!  Six games and I can't remember a 3-second violation....how about the rest of you dIII addicts?

Perhaps that was called on the Crazies?! ;D

Let's face it....the Crazies rule....and for more than 3 seconds!  What a difference between the Titan's busloads of senior citizens and NPU Crazies....I love the CCIW!!

Was I the only one in King Arena that heard the wheatie coach rip #21 a new butt hole? The biggest beef I had (sitting front row, I heard it loud and clear) with his screaming, shrieking approach was that he never actually told the poor kid what he did wrong. He just repeated at least a half dozen times how stupid the kid was.  That's pretty classless.

I'm pretty sure there was a 3-second call either in last night's game, or in Wednesday's (NP games).

Just in case there are any fball fans reading who forgot to watch - good one at frigid* Lambeau: Giants 20, Pack 17 after 3.

[*Not a record, but appears to be the third coldest playoff game ever.]

edit: early in the 4th, Favre throws an INT, but the return is fumbled!  Amazing, an INT is as good as a 35-yard completion! ;D

Not sure if its the record, but it would seem like it w/b hard to beat---In the 2005-06 season, 3 CCIW teams made the national tourney following the inaugural CCIW conference tourney:
1. North Central--22/5 after the conf. tourney (Conf. tourney winner)
2. Augie--21/5
3. Wesleyan--20/6

I don't believe there is a set number as far as making the tourney--GS, TQ, Mr.Y or someone else can explain the intricacies far better than I can. The only conference team guaranteed a spot in the national tourney is the winner of the CCIW conference tourney. If all the conference teams keep knocking each other off during the remainder of the season, the conference tourney winning team may well be the only CCIW representative this year.
