I don't think you guys would fare too well with the trips to Western Massachusetts. :)
I would!  I lived in New England for 7 years.  I'm not so sure the CCIW teams would fare too well - some would but others would not.  Mr Ypsi, on the other hand, could likely find Williams but when he got to Amherst would he go to the Academy, College or University ?

I've spent a lot of time in Maine, but only travelled thru Mass.  Odds are (unless the signs are a whole lot better than elsewhere in NE), I'd end up at UMass and hope that someone had ever heard of Amherst College! ;D
+1 for the riposte! ;)

I don't know about many recent trips by the CCIW, but in Kent Raymond's freshman year, Wheaton went out to Williams and ended a certain winning streak there.  I believe it was William's first lost of the season, and they went down from there, but regardless, Wheaton went into one of the most difficult places in the country to win, with almost no supporting fans.  I was home on Christmas break in New Hampshire and drove on down, and met the handful of wheaton supporters who could make it there.
That was also the year that Wheaton lost in the first round by 1 to calvin in a heartbreaker.  Calvin went on to the final four.
Are there any other more recent results of these two conferences?

*HERE IS THE OFFICIAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECAST FOR NAPERVILLE TODAY:

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON.

HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS FAR NORTHERN ILLINOIS WITH STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF UP TO 12 INCHES BY EARLY THIS EVENING. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE DURING THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS.

FURTHER SOUTH...BETWEEN INTERSTATE 88 AND THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR...A MIX OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW BY EARLY AFTERNOON. THE SNOW MAY BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES WITH SNOWFALL RATES OF UP TO ONE INCH PER HOUR POSSIBLE. STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 9 INCHES ALONG THE INTERSTATE 88 CORRIDOR TO 4 TO 6 INCHES ALONG THE INTERSTATE 80 CORRIDOR.

IN ADDITION TO THE HEAVY SNOWFALL... NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW THIS AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING.

SINCE TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN AT OR JUST BELOW THE FREEZING MARK FOR THE DURATION OF THE SNOWFALL...THE SNOW WILL LIKELY BE WET AND HEAVY... REQUIRING EXTRA EXERTION WHEN SHOVELING.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET... AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

*SO FAR, NORTH CENTRAL HAS ONLY ANNOUNCED THAT DAYTIME CLASSES WILL BE HELD AS USUAL AND AN ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING NIGHT CLASSES WILL BE MADE AT 3 P.M.
BASED ON THE ABOVE FORECAST, I'D SAY THE ODDS OF TONIGHT'S IWU-NCC GAME BEING POSTPONED ARE PRETTY HIGH. NAPERVILLE IS 2.5 MILES SOUTH OF I 88.

*"Be careful out there!"

Dan McCarrell hated to postpone games because of weather when North Park was the visiting team - his stated reason was "at least I know the names of the referees that are going to work the game".

Saturday, January 13, 1979, North Park is ranked #1 in the country, and for the first time in years Wheaton is unbeaten in league play in mid-January.  It starts snowing about 11 in the morning.

We eat our pre-game meal and walk over to the gym where the bus is supposed to be waiting to take us all out to Wheaton at 3:30 p.m. for the 5:15 jayvee game.  It's snowing !!!

The bus arrives at 4:15 p.m. it had taken our favorite driver 3 hours to drive north on Kedzie Avenue from the bus barn in South Holland.  It's snowing !!!

On the bus we go - for the 45 minute trip to Wheaton that wound up taking 3 hours.  It's snowing !!!

Tip-off is 7:30, but the Crusaders graciously push that back to 8 p.m.  North Park wallops the Clyde Glass Wheaties 72-47 with more North Park fans in attendance than Wheaton students or fans.  It's still snowing !!!

We get on the bus at 10:30 and our driver tells us all to sit in the back of the bus because he's not stopping (nor slowing down for that matter).  He gets on North Avenue and at 30 miles an hour he runs every red light and finally has to slow down at Cicero Avenue so he can make a left turn.  Cicero to Foster and you know the rest...  It's still snowing !!!

We get back to the school minutes before midnight - when we past the long entrance ramp to the Tri-State Tollway at North Avenue there's a line of trapped cars all the way to the expressway.  I think we saw maybe a half-dozen other moving vehicles on the ride back to campus.  It took the bus driver over four hours going down Kedzie to get to the bus barn.

This was the "Blizzard of '79" that shut down the City of Chicago for a week and ultimately cost Mayor Michael Bilandic his job.  Some North Park students that made it to the game didn't make it back to campus until the following Tuesday.

DoS

I'm leaving work now - on a nice day, the expressway outside the building gets me home in 15 minutes - today it will be over an hour.
I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON.

MODERATE OR HEAVY SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS MUCH OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN TODAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOW IS EXPECTED NOW THROUGH MID AFTERNOON.

AT 1110 AM...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE BAND OF INTENSE SNOWFALL OVER PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN WISCONSIN...AND ANOTHER OVER FAR SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS. ONE BAND EXTENDED FROM WATERTOWN TO MONROE AND DARLINGTON. THE SECOND BAND EXTENDED FROM WOODSTOCK ILLINOIS...NORTHEAST TO RACINE AND KENOSHA.

SNOW MAY BE VERY HEAVY WITH RAPID ACCUMULATIONS AND VISIBILITIES LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. THUNDERSNOW AND 2 TO 3 INCH PER HOUR SNOWFALL RATES ARE POSSIBLE WITHIN THE HEAVIEST BANDS OF SNOW.

EXPECTED SNOWFALL TOTALS BY THIS EVENING WILL RANGE FROM 6 TO 8 INCHES IN THE MONTELLO AND WISCONSIN DELLS AREAS...BUT 12 TO 18 INCHES FROM WATERTOWN...TO MADISON...TO MONROE AND AREAS EAST. THIS INCLUDES THE MILWAUKEE...WAUKESHA...RACINE... KENOSHA... WEST BEND...AND PORT WASHINGTON AREAS.

SEVERAL REPORTS HAVE ALREADY AVERAGED BETWEEN 10 AND 12 INCHES... ESPECIALLY IN ROCK...GREEN...AND DODGE COUNTIES. LOCALIZED STORM TOTALS OVER 20 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE.

IN ADDITION...LAKE EFFECT SNOW MAY CONTINUE WELL INTO THE EVENING HOURS NEAR THE LAKE. A FEW MORE INCHES MAY OCCUR DUE TO LAKE EFFECT OVER LAKESHORE COUNTIES THROUGH 9 PM.

IN ADDITION TO THE SNOW...STRONG NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS GUSTING UP TO 40 MPH WILL PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN AND ALSO IN INLAND RURAL LOCATIONS. WHITEOUT CONDITIONS ARE ALSO EXPECTED. SNOW DRIFTS OF 3 TO 5 FEET ARE LIKELY AND MAY BE HIGHER IN EXPOSED AREAS THAT FAVOR DRIFTING WITH NORTH TO NORTHEAST WINDS.

TRAVEL IS EXPECTED TO BECOME VERY DANGEROUS OR NEAR IMPOSSIBLE WHERE HEAVY SNOW PERSISTS. TRAVEL IS STRONGLY DISCOURAGED TODAY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...TAKE A WINTER STORM SURVIVAL KIT WITH YOU AND TELL SOMEBODY WHEN AND WHERE YOU WILL BE TRAVELING.

Elmhurst/Millikin has been postponed until tomorrow.

I think that is the best solution as the weather was pretty treacherous and dangerous in the Elmhurst /O'Hare area.

The Brat Stop is a great place definitely.  Another good place about 10 miles west off of Highway 50 in western Kenosha Country (aka "Westosha")  is 75th street Inn,  the Packer Inn (in Silver Lake), and The Crossroads Bar & Grill (also in Silver Lake).    My Grandparents live in Silver Lake and I have spent many times (probably too much time) at these places.  Great food, great bands, and great spirits.

If I read all the posts correctly, all four games are postponed, and rescheduled for same time tomorrow - correct?

Anyone know if all broadcast and livestats info remains the same for tomorrow?

Another good place to eat is the "Somer's House" If you have ever been up to Kenosha it is where "Peg and Lou's" used to be. Great food and a pretty good price.

It is located just North of Campus on Sheridan Rd. on the West side of the street.

Wheaton at Carthage game postponed until tomorrow evening, per Wheaton SID Brett Marhanka.

Thanks, Dave.  That eliminates one of my options tonight.  If NCC re-schedules, I may be stuck with Duke-NC in HD.....not a terrible third option, I suppose.

IWU @ NCC is off...will be played tomorrow evening.

OK.  Duke/NC it is.  I'll get the pizza ordered.  Anyone who can get here is welcome!  (That should be a safe invitation today).

So, uh, what does one do at home on a Wednesday evening in February?

See above.

I have not seen Stevie play a D3 game yet, can remember dunking him in the pool on the Hawaii trip, but it appears  he has a great shot at breaking the Carthage scoring record.

However, can it be done without post season play?   Reminds me of another player I am partial to.
