So, uh, what does one do at home on a Wednesday evening in February?

God, TQ.   ::)
Better NOT ask Mrs. Q that question!!!!!!   :)

Q - lives in Bloomington, IL
Q's fiancee - lives in Columbia, Missouri

You know, if all married couples had about 250 of miles of separation, I think the divorce rate would be much lower.

Joking, joking.

Why couldn't CCIW Snow Day have taken place next Wednesday, when I have a meeting at church to run and therefore can't attend the NPU @ NCC contest?

(I shouldn't say that; the way this winter is going, next Wednesday will probably bring a blizzard of its own.)

See above.

Watching the game, Pete.  There are some horses out there for the Tar Heels and Dukies, but none of 'em could handle Chamernik down low.

I have not seen Stevie play a D3 game yet, can remember dunking him in the pool on the Hawaii trip, but it appears  he has a great shot at breaking the Carthage scoring record.

However, can it be done without post season play?   Reminds me of another player I am partial to.

Stat, I'd enjoy the Wiertel family records while you can - you've got about 3 more years.

You're not going to hold Don Shula/Mercury Morris type parties are you?

petemcb,
It's bad enough outside for basketball games to be ppd, so the next best thing is to stay home and order a pizza to watch a game on TV. Guess who normally delivers the pizzas... teenagers.... put a kid on the road in these conditions ....good one....
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

The front page says that this evening's CCIW games were canceled. Nothing of the sort happened. The games were not canceled. They were postponed. Canceling something means that it is being called off either indefinitely or permanently. The implication is that the chances of a canceled event ever happening are at best fuzzy, and often nonexistent. Postponing something, on the other hand, means that it is being moved to a later time and will definitely still take place. All four host schools mentioned as part of their snowout announcements that Wednesday's games will be played on Thursday night instead, so there were no cancellations involved at all. There were postponements:

North Central went the indirect route and simply mentioned that the game had been rescheduled due to weather, which is a perfectly valid way to indicate a postponement:

Since nobody's referred to non-conference games as "preseason" recently, I've needed a new semantic pet peeve with which I can annoy everyone. ;) :D

Hi Q, never quite thought about it that way,  now how many different ways can I harass Becky over the next 3 years?

If you mess with my friend Becky, then you're messing with me. We NPC '83ers stick together.

Fret not, you scolding worrywart.  My pizza orders are from Costco, where this is no delivery service.  If you knew me, you'd know that I'm too cheap to pay for a pizza delivery.  No teenagers were harmed in the making or delivering of my pizza last night.

petemcb,
Sorry no scolding intended just years of getting called out at all times of the night to pull people out of cars and transport them to medical facilities .No better way to start or end your day with the sounds of the jaws of life ripping a car apart.
I'd really like to agree with you,but then we both would be wrong........

Pat, you should know by now these are just Sagerism's we all have to endure from time to time. God forbid any pre-season games get cancelled!
