Oh I don't think there was any question where my priorities lay last night, I was my usual self.

I know that. It's just that your affinity for someone who wears an IWU basketball uniform is a bit ... unseemly for an NPU grad. ;) I've told Pete McBride that if John Camardella has his way and little Pete chooses IWU, then it is going to cause me no small amount of irritation to see him wearing a green sweatshirt in CCIW gyms like a dutiful parent. :D

I know a North Park grad whose youngest brother's best friend went to Wheaton with the intention of playing football for the then-Crusaders (he never did). The North Park grad told the kid, "No offense, Craig, but even though I've known you your whole life, if you take the field wearing that disgusting uniform I will scream for someone wearing blue and gold to knock you senseless." The little smartaleck replied, "What's your address? I'd like to send you a glossy 8 x 5 of me posing in my Wheaton football uniform."

Here's the article in the kenosha news today about Carthage's last game in the PEC. Construction is already underway for what next year will be called Tarble Arena.

Now that Carthage is going to go ahead and name its gym after primary donor Newton Tarble of Snap-On Tools fame, can we start referring to the gym as "the toolbox"? ;)

I know this'll make alot of people (Q) mad, but as a NP observer I have to point out what I saw...

Unfortunately, the Titans wasted an unbelievable individual performance.  On Senior Night, senior Darius Gant had 28 points and 21 rebounds and made every big basket for the Titans down the stretch in regulation.  North Park had no answer for him.  They tried to double and triple team Gant, but his quickness, strength, ability to camp out in the lane for 5-8 seconds at a time, and leaping ability still made him an impossible matchup.  I think Darius solidified his spot on the 1st Team All-CCIW.

Now, kudos to Darius for realizing the refs weren't counting to 3 and taking advantage of it, but there it is.

Seems to diminish the extraordinary effort of Mr. Gant. I am not buying this. 21 rebounds against a 4 guard lineup and a bunch of clanking 3's (making for long rebounds and weird angles an experienced rebounder would thrive on) are more reasonable explanations.

Were you there?

I didn't say he didn't have a good game, I said his ability to take advantage of the 3 second violation not being called was part of his good game.  As has been said in here many times before (esp. about Raymond and now Steve D.) one of the marks of a great player is learning what they can get away with without the refs seeing.

Take a look at my karma score - courtesy of disagreeing with the vaunted guardians of all that is "right" with D3 hoops - verily they will come out of the woodwork and posters you will never know or talk to will smite you down.

Don't sell yourself short Dennis, I smite you practically every chance I get and I'm not part of the d3 guardians club!

I attended 6-7 NP home games this year and saw the refs call exactly one three second lane violation and one instance of palming.  Both calls went against NP.  While no CCIW "big man" attempted this year a Kareem clear-out-with the-left-arm sky hook, numerous players mimicked Jordan's bunny-hop w/o getting called for traveling.  Once, an NP kid got called for the violation.

With three refs working the floor each game, I was continually flummoxed by their inconsistency.  Bosko can massage the refs all he wants, but when he urges a foul to be called after his player falls on his own, I don't expect a ref to call a foul on the opponent.

FWIW, it is not likely to be green next year, although there's a pretty good chance of it being within the beloved CCIW.

Which Rob Berki quickly negated - a vaunted few wannabe - but he's too well dressed.

I love you Bob - and "I" +K you every day - despite the fact you're from Nebraska.

Smiting Dennis on line is not near as fun as just whacking him in person.  I lost my right arm in several of his chins one time.
