the following article may bring a chuckle to my fellow well travelled CCIW buddies - note the locale of the infraction.....

Koby Clemens, 2 other players arrested

SALEM, Va. (AP)—Police say the son of Roger Clemens and two other minor league teammates were arrested and briefly jailed after a disturbance at a restaurant in Salem, Virginia.

In a news release, police said Koby Clemens, Mark Ori and Jimmy Goethals were arrested after police were called to the parking lot of a restaurant in this western Virginia city.

Clemens and Ori were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Goethals was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

All three were held in the Roanoke County-Salem jail before being released on bond.

The three play for the Salem Avalanche, scheduled to play its final game of the season Monday in Lynchburg.

The arrests were first reported Monday by roanoke.com, the online version of The Roanoke Times.

I have caused disturbances at establishments in Salem, VA before...but fortunately never been jailed.

Is anybody there?
Does anybody care?

I was down at NPU a couple of days ago and the gym looks terrible - it's so sterile its hard to imagine its even a gym.

Illinois Wesleyan has won one national championship and the school has a showcase for that one team that's amazing.

North Park has won five national championships and the trophies have all been shanghied to a place where the general public is not allowed to go.

How sad.

I am determined to be wise, but this was beyond me.

K Mark, Pete, or any other Carthage fan:

Classes at CC began 9/3. Any word yet on any additional recruits/transfers for the upcoming season? With classes having begun, any newcomers should be officially enrolled and on campus.

$15 mil for a trophy case?  I knew they did things a little different in Chicago, but...

This is the kind of stupid thinking which has characterized the on-campus mentality towards North Park athletics for the last 15 years.

Take a look "hair-challenged one" at just how pitiful North Park's athletic efforts have been in every sport (except men's soccer)  in CCIW competition the last 15 years.  Last fall the women's team failed to win one match in any CCIW sport and finished dead last in cross-country.  The school would rather drop a sport than compete/recruit in it (men's and women's tennis).  They had to go to such lengths to found a team "women's crew" that so no other CCIW team can compete against them.

But the on-campus mantra is "everything is fine" "Jack's doing a great job" "Look at the new Helwig Center" "We can't recruit because our facilities are so bad" "When do we go out for coffee?"

rome wasn't built in a day dennis, and some programs are just starting from such a lower point, I'm sure I don't need to point out to you that the 80's were a particularly tough time on campus, some things are still recovering from that. I wasn't being facetious, we have great plans for the gym, but with Helwig being the most recent project we can't just jump in to another athletics project unless some one steps forward with about 15 million bucks. There are other areas that need attention right now as well. But if you have that 15 lying around, let me know, we'll even name the new gym the Prikkel Basketball Arena.

Rob:

The lobby of the gym is a "hole" and its been that way for nearly 50 years.  The bathrooms are NOT ADA.  There's a ramp in the middle of the gym lobby into Hamming hall that is easy to trip over when you come in the front door and it doesn't look good either.  There's a giant coat closet which hasn't been used in 40 years.

Improvements to the lobby of the gym and giving the NCAA championship teams their due in a renovated lobby wouldn't require 15 million dollars.  Just some common sense.

Come on now.

North Park should be embarrassed at the way the entrance to their main public-attending building looks.

AndOne,

No one is more anxious to see something posted on the website than me but until that happens, I don't want to throw out any names I have heard.

Mark/Pete---

I understand completely. I was just hoping Bosko or someone else close to the team may have put out some information before it appears on the web site. In my experience information is often available at least a few days before its actually posted on the school site. Don't know about the CC SID office, but my experience has been a SID does not necessarily post info the minute, or even the day he gets it from the concerned coaching staff. As such, I was actually paying homage to your investigative skills and knowledge of the team by asking if either of you had any info yet as I figured the 2 of you would be among the 1st to know any new news about the squad.   :)

Or--Perhaps Bosko has a problem with info being released through any source other than the CC web site?? As I'm not burdened by such a restriction, I didn't consider that possibility before asking if either of you had any news.
