There was an offer out to a former player who turned it down.  Not sure what else has been happening out there.
There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Now that the kids are on campus, any word on what hoop players are officially enrolled in MIAA schools? Let the open gyms begin!!!

Calvin isn't on campus yet (well some frosh may have trickled in...) and they don't start until after Labor Day (day after, I believe, if tradition holds).

If tradition held, they would start right on Labor Day, like when I was a student there.

It has also been within the last five years that Calvin has given Good Friday off.  Boy, they sure are getting soft.  What next, air conditioned dorms?

That's amazing.  EMU has taken off Good Friday for essentially forever (it was definitely NOT a new thing when I began in '74).  Of course, due to separation of church and state, it was 'spring break' (lasting one day - the real semester break was 'winter break').

To Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, atheist, etc., students who wondered about state favoritism toward a particular religion (blatantly unconstitutional), I explained that the fact that the widely varying 'spring break' ALWAYS fell on Good Friday was purely coincidental.  Occasionally I even managed a straight face, but I don't think they bought it! ;)

There's talk on mlive that one of the assistants might be getting the job (of course talk on mlive tends to be about as reliable as the weatherman)

Not to mention you'll learn more about Olivet than you ever cared to know.

Wonder if Cheyenne Luzynski, is the "one of the assistants".  Now that would be a story to follow.

But Rob Boden seems like the most likely candidate.

My choice off the Alma staff would be Lonnie Griffin, who is one of the hardest-working recruiters our there ... and clearly, Alma needs talent.

While he could do the job, I'm too selfish to give up his company during Hope games!   ;D

Flattery might get you a free sucker sometime, so keep it up. ;D

Coaching from the 7th row, and coaching from the bench are two completely different things.

I'm undefeated from the 7th row.

PS  Killed some hornets today, so I guess I get to take home the wooden shoes.     ;) :D

An amusing thing happened at my son's (a first grader) school open house this week.  We met one of the new teachers and had the following exchange:

Dad: So where did you go to school?

Teacher: Hope

Son:  Eewww !!

He understands the rivalry.  ;D

So this is how Calvin Alum are raising their kids...

Children should be polite and respectful to adults (and say Eewww!! in the car on the way home.)  ;) :D
