Yep. Consider me the Posting Up equivalent of your neighbor who asks you every winter why you still have your Christmas lights up on January 20th. ;)

Last night my wife and I were driving home and we passed a house with two shrubs out front, its Christmas lights shining brightly. My wife exclaimed "They've got their Christmas lights on!" She was totally mystified by my response: "For that guy's sake I sure hope he doesn't have Greg Sager for a neighbor." ;)

+karma - that's hilarious!!!

Add my +karma to that one!!!  I just HOPE that the lights didn't spell out "Pre-Season Greetings!!"   :D

From an article about Calvin's fund-raising campaign in a recent Chimes, it looks as though the cost of the fieldhouse complex has gone up to $49.5 million.

No word yet on whether the condiment dispensers will be gold-plated, or even maroon-plated.

Most of us would probably just be happy if there was a reason to have condiment dispensers.   Gold-plated, maroon-plated or just condiment packages......we just want hotdogs available. ;)

Here, here!  Although our teenager thinks that Calvin games at Calvin with a lunch or supper of candy and pop is a pretty good day...   ;)

It's true that we haven't served hot dogs over at the old fieldhouse to date, unlike the DeVos.

Oh, by the way, has anyone seen this article? I think maybe it explains some things I've been wondering about for some time...  ;) :D

Cornerstone's roster is up--with 11 of the 12 being underclassmen and not a "true" post player above 6'5", it looks very much like the "baby knights" mentality may prevail with them. Of course, gone is Snikkers, who has enrolled at Hope. Also gone is Andy Venema, who (per mlive forums) has enrolled at Davenport. And also per mlive, Albert and Olds are suspended for the first 10 games.

With Aquinas, 10 of 15 being underclassmen (7 frosh) also seems young. I know a lot of these kids on both teams were recruited hard by MIAA schools...anxious to see 6'9" Dan Perkins after his redshirt last year.

What does everybody else think? How does Calvin and Hope stack up to these teams for the Select Bank, etc. tourney? Any thoughts of potential starting lineup match-ups?

Aquinas is missing 6'6" Devin Tarrant, a freshman last year, who played quite a bit. Also, Johnny Martin is not on the roster.  He was hurt much of last year but I didn't think he was a Senior.  Dave Hammer has been a very good coach for Aquinas's program

I would like to think that should translate into a 4-0 tournament for the MIAA (and I would predict that), but the WHAC teams will have a definite advantage in games played going in - especially on Hope.

Looking into the future ... Albion, Alma, Calvin, Hope, Kalamazoo, Olivet were all at our camp in the MVP Fieldhouse in GR yesterday. Camp alumnus Jimmy Strunk was already talking about the Hope-Calvin game.
