Tri-state gets one against Manchester, 81-65, with 30 points for Tony Benford.

Albion has a huge test Wednesday against D-II Hillsdale, a team about as good as WashU. The Britons' first two games looked promising. How will they do against very tough competition? If they win or even come close, we could have a three-way competition for the MIAA title.

I don't know how good WashU is this year except they were ranked #1, but I have watched Hillsdale. However, I have seen lots of great d3 teams over the years play. I would not rank Hillsdale this year as a team compared to one of the top teams in d3. Yes it will be a very tough test for Albion, and Hillsdale is good, but I don't know if they are as good as a top d3 team in my opinion.

I based that comparison on last year's Massey ratings. I haven't seen Hillsdale play.

Does anyone know what the ticket situation is for this weekend? I was all jazzed to go to Friday's games, until my wife informed me yesterday that her sister and her family were coming over Friday night for dinner. Dang! I do plan on being there Saturday, and am looking forward to touching base with other posters. It's been too long.

I just talked to the ticket office at Cornerstone.  They are selling tix there until 3pm today and then they will be available at the door.  She said doors would open at least an hour before but couldn't say specifically.

NB:  Regarding the GVSU announcer something isn't right.  In 63 Hope won the MIAA.  My recollection is MIAA did not really get involved in post season tourney play until 1978.  The year after M. Veenstra finished playing.  D3 (to my knowledge) started national championship in b-ball around 1973.
If the announcer was in h.s. in 63 that would make him about 60 years old.  Perhaps the announcer really meant the 92 championship team.
Obviously the announcer does not really know the MIAA very well.
HC:  With the students mostly out of town for the weekend it would be surprising if getting tickets will be a problem.

Unless one of my THREE girls has some latent tall genes floating around somewhere, I'm guessing the best I might produce basketball wise are some shooting guards, but I am a much much bigger fan of the game than ever was playing it, so who knows??? Maybe wrestlers!  ;)

I do stunt with the oldest (4), and she is in gymnastics... so maybe a cheerleader.

Have much to be thankful for this year... Blessings to all the posting folks tomorrow, and GO HOPE!

Last years attendance at Calvin was listed as 2388 for the Hope/C'stone game, 3200 the next night with Hope and Calvin.

I think Cornerstone seats around 2000 to 2500, its not listed anywhere on their website.  Maybe someone else can fill in that blank.  Maybe they should have a split session.  :D

Here's a link to Gametracker for tonights Albion/Hillsdale game.

GAMETRACKER NOT WORKING

As I recall, Hillsdale only had 7 players returning from last season (I think) so they've mixed in some new faces.  So far they've been very competitive with everyone.
