I think Goodnight is right about Draayer's shot being affected by a bad hammy. After watching the Olivet's game Wednesday is seems quite obvious that he can't get the elevation he needs to shoot effectively. Most of his misses were short, even the ones when he had the time to get a good look. The ones that were long appeared to be attempts to overcompensate for his lack of elevation and those shots were much flatter than the high arching shot we're accustomed to seeing.  I

My post was removed?

Todd Geerlings should be fired.  He's an embarassment to this league.   After his performance at Kresge on Wednesday night, he should be booted like Ernie. The sorry thing is that Joe Cooper watched from the scorer's table, and I guarantee he had no clue how bad this guy was jobbing the Hornets.

Big week for the Hornets. They have two winnable games at home, vs Olivet and Calvin. Best case scenario is 4-3 at the end of the first half. That would be huge.

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

Excellent!  That will make for some fun basketball to watch!  If you haven't seen an IBL game yet, I highly recommend it.  The shorter shot clock makes for some great "run and gun" excitement with high scores -- great family fun.

I am a couple of days late, but wanted to thank diehardfan for the boost of karma.

Finally we put to rest the transfer issue, with all of this time invested in transfer rules Van... better produce on the court for that four letter school out west.

Just saw this come across the AP wire. In a press conference from the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building, a major college basketball fixing operation was taken down early this morning. Apparently officials were making their calls in favor of the point spreads. The game that broke the case open was an MIAA game in Albion, MI on Wed night. With the line in Vegas set at 5 points in favor of Albion, one offical made crucial calls througout the game that allowed Albion to beat the spread. This apparently is a large operation and has spread across several other leagues.

Stinger,

Coming onto a board and calling for someone to get fired is a real low blow. The board of trustees from the SuperSweetness Hall of Fame frown upon such action.

It is very easy to blame an offical when your team loses a game. I would think the athletes wearing orange and black have a much larger say in who wins the game.

The Super Sweetness Hall of Fame is proud to announce this years winner of the Robert "Bobby" Knight Lifetime Coaches Award. This award is given to the coach that best exemplifies Coach Knight's passion and fire on the bench during the game. This year's winner is Joe Haklin, Ex K-Zoo Head Coach and current AD at Marian College in Indy,IN.

Really?  Headed to Indy next week; will have to stop in and thank him for the many years of fine entertainment! 8)   (There's nothin' like seeing a grown man throw himself on the hardwood and flail his arms and legs like a toddler in a temper tantrum -- priceless!)  :P

Haklin best exemplified Knight's attitude on the court, but he was even more consistent with that attitude than Bobby. Sure Bob had his truly psychotic moments, but no one could be depended on for that sort of consistent energy night in and night out like Haklin. Every time I see a Kzoo game now, I still have to remind myself that Joe's entertainment factor won't be there.

The best Haklin moment I witnessed was actually non-MIAA because I caught a game with Wooster coming up to Kzoo over Christmas break one year. Joe felt that a foul was commited before the halftime buzzer, but no free-throws were awarded. Joe stayed on the court berating the refs for so long that all his players had given up and headed to the locker room while he was still going. I think he heard me when I chose a quiet moment to shout "Joe, are you gonna shoot the free throws?"
"You can say 'no,' and I can say 'yes,' and my word has THREE letters."

Anyone making the trip for the Calvin-Albion game tommorrow?  If so would love to meet you all......I am one of the easiest to spot (with the lack of fan support this year) I am the lone guy with purple face paint on.  I live and breathe basketball, however no one here (At Albion) really seems to be at that same wavelength.   I wonder how the attendance figures are for the other teams in the MIAA......besides Calvin and Hope, which are always leading the way for our conference.   I don't know why someone wouldn't want to experience DIII competition.  I know there are people that have probably never been to a game, and its a shame, and doubt thats rare @ Calvin and Hope.  It seems once you become a Knight or Dutchmen you are a lifelong fan.

Remember, Calvin still has the home date with Hope and the 4,500 people that means.  I was kind of surprised that Albion was ranked 6th in the league.  Where's the spirit?  Well those numbers should go up Saturday...

You may be surprised.  I know of some Hope and Calvin alums that never went to a game and never cared.  But I do believe there is a stronger passion out here.  Part of that must be the tradition.  But is part of it the dedication to other things?  I know when I looked at schools that I was blown away by the involvement and dedication of Hope students to more than just basketball.  Is that found on other campuses?  I know I found it lacking at other institutions that I visited (please do not misconstrue, I do not know enough about Albion to say anything about your school).  Just food for thought.

Gee, I hope some of those recruits are reading this!   ;D  Based on the number of fans watching you, who wouldn't want to play for Hope?  :o
