Would they be able to catch Western at 4,000 a game?  They might have to sell out every game, which I don't think is too crazy of a scenario, especially if they play like they did late in the season.  What does the new place hold anyway, I forgot?   ???

Mr. Ypsi

I demur -

Despite the recent chaos in the EMU program, I think (hope!) that the new coach is the solution (he's a lifelong Ypsilantian).  I think (hope!) that he will be able to improve their record even in his first year, which wouldn't necessarily matter much anyway in this totally-overshadowed-by-Michigan environment, but Coach is so popular locally that just HIS fans may boost attendance!

You may have missed your 'window of opportunity' to climb to 4th.

But at so many levels (not just athletically), EMU has been SO screwed up lately, who knows?  (I think (hope?) they have finally turned the corner, but we'll see.)

And, of course, ONE of their recent scandals (good riddance to former AD Dave Dials - watch out, CWRU!) was that the football attendance numbers were inflated (often by MORE than 100%); I've heard no allegations of inflation in the basketball numbers, but who knows - maybe you're already #4!  (Though, can we have an audit on YOUR attendance?!)  ;)

I thought I'd come here and be inundated with Hope and Calvin posts about the segment this morning.   I thought it was nicely done.  The length was just about perfect too. It wrapped up just as I felt the nausea kicking in.

#5 - Xavier vs. Cincinnati
#6 - Indiana vs. Purdue

Concerning attendance - a total sellout for every game would put Hope at 3500-3700, depending on how much SRO they have.

How did EMU draw during Ben Braun's tenure? Or the Earl Boykins era?

The Convocation Center is a two-edged sword -- nice to have the best facility in Washtenaw County, but it's pretty depressing to go to a game there and see how empty it is.

Ramsey will certanly recruit better, but that won't play dividends yet.

Mr. Ypsi

The Convo Center opened the year after Earl left; Bowen Fieldhouse was pretty well packed when Earl was there.  Crisler Arena is often referred to as 'The House That Cazzie Built'; I suspect the same could be said for Earl and the Convo!  It's a shame he never got to play in it.

Looks like ESPN did a little fudging to apease their audience.  Still a great list to even be associated with.  #4 for 2 D3 schools, ......not too shabby.  Actualy its downright amazing considering the focus on D1 athletics.

Missed the whole thing, any word on a potential replay sometime.

Stinger I hear they have some nice beverages for nausea in Kzoo, ask your Stinger bee or killer bee or bee stingers.......whatever they call themselve these days, I'm sure they can help you out.

Ypsilantian just doesn't quit have the same ring as Roman, or Spartan or Athenian or Parisian does it?

I'm feeling a little nauseous myself.

Mr. Ypsi

Now, now, Sac, it could be worse: he could be from our near neighbor, Hell, and be a little Hellion!  And I wonder what the natives of Climax are called?  ;D

BTW, that was a typo - the final 'i' is dropped and we are Ypsilantans - any better?  ;)

;D   SAC  I THINK THE FLYING DUTCHMEN FAN HAS SOME EXTRA COPIES  OF THE ESPN THING

Less than a month until practice starts!

I was hoping to get the board's consensus on the Kazoo Hornets this year.  As a lifelong Michigan resident who has recently moved abroad, I will definitely miss attending games in the Rolla Dome and look forward to frequenting this board as a regular poster.

Does anybody know how the Hornets fared in summer leagues?  I know that they have a good nucleus of young players and some excellent senior leadership.  After two seasons of struggling through seemingly endless close losses, I hope that this will finally be the year that Kazoo puts it all together.

Stinger

Gerald, I think it could be another roller coaster year for the Hornets this season.  Their backcourt has a ton of experience in Henman, K. Konwinski, and Worst.   I think they are going to be thin in the middle.  Kellogg will need to step up his game this year. He seems to have the tools be a solid 4 man in this league.  Great physical tools.    They have a tough non-conference schedule including Wooster, Chicago and DePauw.  It should be another interesting season, but there's nothing better than heading to the Rolla Dome to watch the Hornets play.

ANY OPINIONS ON HOW ADRIAN WITH DUE THIS YEAR.  WORD IS NOKOVICH AND LEWIS ARE NOT PLAYING.  THAT MEANS THE BULLDAWGS LOST 4 OF THE 5 STARTERS.  COULD BE A DOWN YEAR FOR THE DAWGS.
