If I could give you Karma, you would have tons by now...too funny!

I think I'll do it every day, because that was one of the all time best zings on here.

It is good to see that Mike "Shaq" Bailey made some free throws in the game Wed. night. In previous games against Alma and K-Zoo, Shaq missed some FT's that would have salted the game away.

Standing at midfield at the Horseshoe, and Camp Randall is more impressive than standing at midfield of Michigan Stadium.  I would rank the  atmosphere of a Michigan game behind that of Penn State, Wisconsin, Ohio State in the Big 10.

It just doesn't live up to the hype it gets.

But this isn't www.big10stadiums.com so on to what is really important in the news today.

Early this morning, men who appeared to be Native Americans or at least dressed like Native Americans  stormed a cargo load of Lipton Ice Tea at the Boston Harbor, and dumped it into the water. It sounds like they had one great party. There is a video clip of it on www.cnn.com

Absolutely. There's only one word that can describe Dren's retort: Supersweet.

The downside is that this is increasingly becoming the room that Posting Up regulars associate with male cheerleading.  :D

Do any Hope fans think VanSolkema might make an appearance on Saturday?

No... at least I hope not. Was he dressed for the tri-state game? Anyone know? He's been in street clothes the last few games I've seen.

He was in street clothes at Tri-State.  I suspect that will end very soon  ;D

No change in the roster yet on the Hope's Men's Basketball webpage.

And... still enjoying DREN's posting from yesterday!!! :D

Heard a rumor from Holland today that Evan Hare is probably done for the season and maybe even his career with a disk problem in his back. Can anyone verify or refute this information? Hard to find out more from 11 hours away.

Evan has 3 ballooning discs in his back and although Glenn didn't say he's done, it was implied.  They are opting not to do surgery yet, but to treat with therapy and see how he does.

I believe Van Solkema will play before next Saturday's Albion game.  Hare being
hurt would open up a roster spot without having to demote someone to JV.
I think GVW and his 8 assistants would like DVS to have some playing time before playing Albion.

I heard Artest is still waffling between the Kings and the Dutch.  Its always
been his dream to wear the anchor.

That would be appropriate because an anchor is exactly what he has been for the Pacers.

I've been hearing lots of mixed things about Hope. I talk to the players and they say that he isn't going to play, but then GVW says in the sentinel that we might see him in action...

Should be interesting to see what happens.

It's not difficult to believe that the kids on the bench have some mixed sentiments  :-X :-\ :'( ::) ??? :o :( >:( about the prospect of VanSolkema soaking up some PT.  It's a nice problem for GVW, but it also carries with it some potential for frustrated players who aren't getting many, or any, minutes other than garbage time.

mrswylie

Beyond the current players, you have to wonder what this does to Hope's ability to recruit the next generation.  Rather than always looking over your shoulder for a D1 transfer, might you decide to try another school?

veragrace

At a Hoops luncheon Glenn would only say that VanSolkema is in practice to help the team get better, to get used to playing with them, and to begin to enjoy playing again, which apparently he wasn't.  When asked if we would see him play, coach said that he likes the team the way it is.  He wouldn't commit one way or the other.

Thanks for the luncheon insight.
