kresgekrazy---what chapter was A****I covered. ;D Bet that was a tough A.

I watched VanSolkema during a Hope timeout and he was describing a play to Davelaar. After the TO Hope ran a set I can't remember seeing and it resulted in a wideopen and uncovered Andy Phillips slashing to the bucket for a layup.

DVS got many high fives from his teamates sitting on the bench for that..........he's makeing an impact.

Maybe Van Solkema wants to be the ninth assistant coach on thebench.

What ever it takes to get more W's. They can have 20 assistants for all I care... give 'em a second row of seats... Just bring home the championship!

At this time last year we were still 2 weeks from seeing all four eventual final 4 teams in the same top 25 poll. Intersting.

I realize it's been awhile since the mention of Spanky today, but I was wondering if the "Spanky" in question happened to come from the thriving metropolis of Alpena, Michigan?

Sac - may God grant you the peace that passes all understanding.  Been trying to e-mail you from Florida, but it's not going through - will touch base later this week.

Sac,

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace;
The Lord make His face to shine upon you,
and be gracious unto you.  Amen.

Thought I would do a little research. The comment was made earlier that all Crawford does is make layups.

I looked at Manute Bol's field goal %, the highest he ever shot was 46%. The man didn't have to jump to put the ball through the basket.

Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean Jacque Wamutombo had a season best 56%.

I am not sure if anyone else couldn't sleep last night, but I saw Bob Costas's interview with Craig Ehlo last night. Bob commented on practice and how the Cavs were working on end of the game situations. Ehlo made the comment "We have in place a great defense to keep Jordan from taking a game winning shot tomorrow." The Cavs must have a defensive genius for an assistant coach.

Tniem, Good point, I am well up to date with my WCC and Gonzaga triva/knowledge. Thought I would draw on the fact Morrison originaly committed to Washington only to back out and head to Gonzaga. Stockton, Dickau, Turiaf, Ravio all chose the Bulldogs from day one. Keep your eyes open for further WCC news releases.

Carl, I will be looking forward to it.  Like I said before, I usually find them really funny.

Sac, I echo everyone else's sentiments

I never said he didn't deserve the accolades he's receiving.  He's clearly a dominant inside force in the conference and the country.

With that said, Minute and Dikembe and all other big men take shots from places other than layups.  Crawford almost never shoots anything else...and when he does he misses.

There's nothing wrong with what he's doing.  In fact, he should be applauded, along with the coaches and teammates, for getting him the ball where he is most effective.

I am actually surprised at how much he gets the ball.  I think some of it is a function of the style of the league, but we'll see if they ever get to play a team in the tourney other than ones they've already played 10 times this year.

Today is a very special day.  Student ticket day for Calvin v. Hope round 159.

That's the man himself. Jeff "Spanky" Amlotte (one of the founding members of the Dew Crew on Hope's campus) lives on. He is now a youth pastor in the Grand Rapids area. I actually think I remember him suiting up for the Dutch football sqaud in the mid-90s (which is pretty remarkable considering his 5'2" stature).
