PS  sac (in exile) does not mean, sac (in Olivet).

But it could mean sac (in Berea, OH). ::)

No sign of sac in Berea about 10 days ago ... I was down there visiting my alma mater! By the way, anyone who is familiar with B-W's football stadium, did you read that B-W is renovating the stadium ... The Tressel brothers (Dick, Jim, David) have given the money to replace the old turf!

So in the Holland summer league, there are a couple of Calvin teams with interesting names:

Team #4   Golden Knights
Team #5   Baby Knights

I hear there may be yet another Calvin team -- let's call them the Neo Knights -- populated by the transfers that are coming into the program.

A couple tidbits from Greatlakeshoops.com

Tyler Wilson 5-9 PG Flint International Academy, to Adrian

Detroit News Fourth Team Class D all-state averaged 19 points per game.

.......and GLH is saying Steve Wilmers from Lapeer is now heading to Grand Valley State instead of Hope, though it doesn't mention if its for basketball.

Got a bit of a BB fix last night.  I watched the Hope boys in there first summer league game (104 -100 win in OT).  Some fresh faces were playing  - Scott Jungling, John Snikkers, Andy Venema, and Logan Neil.

I also just discovered this - a chance to see a few of last years Seniors in an all-star game, at CU Thursday at 7:30

http://www.mlive.com/sports/grpress/index.ssf?/base/sports-0/121215091431030.xml&coll=6

Although rosters have not been finalized, some of the college seniors who have committed to play are: Michigan guard Ron Coleman; Aquinas College forward Jeff Wierzbicki; Calvin College guard Derek Griffin (Whitehall); center Marcus Vanderheide (Calvin Christian), guard Derek VanSolkema (South Christian) and guard Tyler Wolfe (Cedar Springs) of Hope College's Division III third-place team; and Grand Valley State guard Jason Jamerson, GVSU's all-time 3-point shooter who helped the Lakers to the last two Division II Elite Eight Tournaments.

Naymick (North Muskegon) and Grand Valley All-American Callistus Eziukwu (Muskegon) are a pair of centers who are questionable as they play in tryout camps that could lead to professional contracts overseas, or NBA free-agent deals.

Imagine seeing Derek Griffin, Marcus VDH, Tyler Wolfe, and Derek VS all on the same team.  That ought to be interesting.

goodknight -

Sorry, I've been away for a while.  Can you (or anyone else) fill me in on Calvin (& Hope, for good measure) recruiting?

Does Calvin have some talented transfers coming in the fall?

mattgrubb

can any of you all give me some insight as to what kind of player Dan Walter was at Adrian?
I am thinking of drafting him in the this summer league and need some inside scoop.

any insight on how the hope team played? Who else was there?  I'm guessing bosch, tanis and bowser, at least from what i've seen working out in holland.  Believe jesse is still overseas.  although its just a summer game, its a nice win with voorhies, zach engles and other "professional players".

Estimation on scoring from players?  cann you tell I'm missing it at all???????

Jesse's back, and yes, Bosch, Tanis, Bowser, as well as Osburn, Canan and someone who's escaping my memory at the moment played.  Oh yes, Aaron Boersma.  My reports tell me that Boersma and Tanis were hot from 3 last night.

Equally interesting, the Baby Knights played the Golden Knights in the late game but alas, I missed it.
