I only caught the last 8 minutes of the broadcast, the radio guys mentioned Jungling once, and I did a double-take.  But there wasn't much talk about it on the radio, so I don't really know the skinny.

As far as Carter I don't think anything has been definitively determined.  I think he just had an MRI this past midweek.

Interesting to see Scott Jungling on the Hope bench yesterday.  Does that mean Carter is out for the year?

jungling AND curtis caroll...surprised nobody said anything yet...last i heard was carter was out for 1 month minimum, afterward to be determined.

Carroll was on the varsity bench in Wednesday's game at Olivet.

Carroll was mentioned here.................Jungling is new to this conversation.

notes from Olivet

***  Finally the M*A*S*H report.  Kelvin Carter might be out for awhile, the hit he took on his knee last week was pretty bad I guess.  Curtis Carroll was called up to varsity as the 3rd PG, I think at this point it doesn't look good that Carter will return this season.  Several Hope players had the flu this weekend and I have to say, Osburn looked pretty bad afterward, he was a warrior tonight.  But otherwise things weren't nearly as bad as I was told they could be.

i talked to carter yesterday was going to have surgury  this week or next week  maybe out   3-4  weeks
i love hope  sports all of them are really great to watch

That's good news about Carter.  I like his game when he plays with confidence and in my opinion you can never have too many guards in the MIAA.  That's not to say however that a 6'9" athletic guy wouldn't be welcomed!  Hope all goes well with the surgery.

I suppose part of the problem with Calvin's spotty offensive performance today is because when your starting post and leading scorer leaves after 24 seconds of action, that plays havoc with substitution patterns.
Not sure that disruption of substitution patterns was the big factor....KVS's substitution patterns seem to average about 1 per every 24 seconds or so anyways!  I think the big impact is simply not having your MVP and leading scorer in the game at all. Also, a great post player frees up the others for open shots.  A healthy Mantel is going to be crucial if the Knights want to win the MIAA this year.

I think it'll be important for the Knights to make sure not to look past Adrian this week.  Easy to do as Adrian has tended to be an automatic W in the past, and Hope looms on Saturday.

As promised the GVW interview....

.........it took awhile for me to download it, unfortunately its not broken into segments, the interview takes place almost exactly half-way through.

Talks about the development of the team, Jesse Reimink(I think he meant masters degree), the youth of the team, scheduling (humerous too), Wheaton/Kent Raymond, the national tournament, Olivet's new gym, Hope/Calvin and the MIAA.

Not sure I agree with you on the above quote.  Perhaps you forgot Jan 10, 2007 when Calvin lost 79-75 at Adrian.

It is amazing how there is no respect for anyone in the MIAA if they are not from Calvin or Hope.  Many great players from the league: Yancey, McClarey brothers, McCain, Michael Staley, and Desmond Young.  There were 10 posts on Remick (a great player by the way) scoring his 1000th pt (in a 4 yr campaign) and only a mention by bulldogallum that Desmond scored his 1000th pt in only his 55th game (barely more than 2 seasons).

That and then happy calvin guy talking about adrian being an automatic W for Calvin.  Adrian is always a threat and now they are showing they are battle tested and can win the close game.  I feel this will be a close pivotal game in the conference this week

I think there is a lot of respect on the board for players from other schools by those folks on this board who are regular posters. Rea through the pages and you'll see due respect paid. So long as the vast majority of posters are Hope and Calvin fans its safe to say that most posts will be about those schools because those are the games and players most posters see and where their main interest lies.

And I think realist presents the fair more accurate view of Adrian. Calvin would be remiss to look past Adrian in anticipation of this weekend just like Hope should not look past Kzoo. No one in the league is good enough to look past anyone else this year, particularly on the road.

I believe one must also take into account that in recent history, Adrian has not exactly been a worldbeater.  I'm fairly certain they were .500 or below going into the conference schedule, and defeated a poor Albion team and a trine program that hasn't earned a great amount of respect recently, or wins, for that matter.

I have not watched Adrian play but from what i have read/heard, i would put them in the same group with Olivet.  A team that can get you on a given night when they are hot and you are not.  I am not ready to put any other MIAA team in that catagory.

I initially thought 4 losses may get one a share of the regular season title.  After one week of play, 3 might get it done and someone may get through with 2 and win it outright.

Albion, in all honesty, was a disappointment at the Devos.  Yancy as well. the loss to Adrian must have taken something out of them.

Hope's backcourt can potentially contribute 30-40+ a night to help out Jesse, and someone is going to have to guard Osburn, because he has shown the past few games that he is more than able to hit the midrange shot.
