Wow!!!
Calvin 59 to 58.
I think I said just the other day that the worst thing Hope could do is let Calvin hang around, and that is just what they did.

What a game... I've been telling you about Veldhouse all season long... that kid is crazy good.

Calvin did not lead until that Veldhouse 3, amazing.

Already ? the calls.  Hope just got beat by a team that shouldn't have beat them so the only "reason" can be one call.  Not this time Hope!

So what do I mean?  If I was a betting man, which I am  ;D, in this type of rivalry game, I would basically put the record aside and give Calvin some extra points for it being at home.  I think in the end you are correct, Hope has to be favored, but I wouldn't bet much on this thing.  Its just too unpredictable and it would not be a large upset (if an upset at all) if the Knights win.  Keep in mind past shockers.

Boy was this a premonition.  Shocker with the three.  Sounded like a prayer as he put his head down and then put it up.  Look forward to reading about the game.  Glad I didn't have much money on the game.  And I don't think many will call this an upset.

And for all those Hope fans that were worried about regional and national rankings, can we stop speculating.  We won't be winning the conference regular season championship.  I think we can also stop thinking about hosting and all the rest.  Now is the time to think about the last few games.

Congrats to the Baby Knights.  Unfortunately it is probably the start of many more.

Somewhere in my posts awhile back I wrote in reference to Veldhouse "This kid is special." He showed it again tonight. Icewater in the veins. Having a player who wants the ball when the game is on the line is like gold.

Come on.  Give it a rest with the "no one expected it/Hope was favored" stuff.  Starting to sound like the Pistons "no one respects us" jibe.  It gets old.  Like I have said in this rivalry game, both teams have an equal shot at winning.  And if you do not believe, you have not seen enough of them.

In terms of your complaint about the complaint of the calls, it sounded like it was close to out of bounds but Calvin would have still gotten the ball.  And it sounds like magic still was in the air.  So no matter what, Calvin won this one fair and square.  And they should have.  I don't think you will find many people that did not give them a chance.

Calvin still has to get by Albion again, so don't count it out just yet.

I don't think anyone is crying about one call losing the game... So zip it!

Congrats to Albion on good win tonight beating Alma by 25.  The MOV wasn't the only thing that made it special, though.  BC got his standard double-double with 22 and 11 (15th of the season), but more importantly the rest of the team played extremely well.  28 assists on 35 FGs, that's the Albion b-ball we like to see.  Way gets a double-double and Silas hits double digits.  Way to go guys.

Crazy game, I guess, out of GR with the GW shot from Veldhouse with one tick left.  I wrote, after Albion lost to 3SU, that this thing could turn on its head a couple more times.  Well, there's one.  I cannot wait to see what's next.  But first, Albion has to focus on Kzoo as they gave them fits in the first go-around.

Sounds like the Brits finally got out of their funk.  Should be just in time for a big run into the MIAA tournament.

From the Olivet College website, it's a final:  Adrian 62 Olivet 60.

Clearly, a HUGE win for the Bulldogs in the most important game of the night ;)

Based on the responses we have once again confirmed the fact the Hope followers can dish it out, but can't really take it.  Yes, your team was favored, and rightly they should have been (#4 versus #25) or was Hope over-rated?  Was this an upset?  Yes, and by any standard even if it was a home game for Calvin.  Several days ago I questioned how Hope would respond this late in the season if pressured at the end of the game, and now we know.  Frankly based on what I heard, and saw it may be the best thing that could have happened to Hope.
Several losses seem to have gotten the Brits attention back on playing a complete game.
