Meanwhile, if Hope does beat Albion tonight and then Calvin does Saturday that sets up Calvin to have a commanding 2-game lead over their nearest competitor.  That would prove difficult for anyone to overtake.  But just remember all the regular season is doing is getting home court for the MIAA tourny, I think to get to the NCAA's any MIAA team is going to have to win the tourney as opposed to hoping for an at-large bid.

GO CALVIN!

If Calvin wins tonight and Saturday they would have a 2 game lead.  I don't consider that a commanding lead.  Calvin will have to play Hope, Olivet, and Albion away the second time around the league.  If they can win 2 this week they would be in a good postion but with a lot of the season left.

2 games would be sizeable at this point. Sure Calvin would have to play Hope, Albion, and Olivet, but everyone else would have to play each other again too. If they were to gain a two game lead, Calvin could conceivably lose two, or even all three, of those 'tough' games and still have a shot at the league title.

That is the exact reason I used commanding, not insurmountable  ;D.  You have to figure that the other teams will beat up on each other as well in the 2nd half of the season.  It would take the perfect storm of one team running the table and Calvin stumbling multiple times in the 2nd half, all of that is highly unlikely though not impossible.  What is certain is that Hope has already dug themselves a pretty tough hole to climb out of, it will take a tremendous amount of mental and physical effort to come back from the couple game lead they've spotted Calvin and Albion and even if they did it could wear them out and contribute to running out of gas at the end of the season with having a thinner bench than usual.

Wednesday action, all games 7:30, miaa.org for all the stat and audio links

Hope at Albion --  important game for both teams, always good fun playing at Kresge.......something like getting slapped on a sunburn.

Trine at Alma -- battle for 7th

Olivet at Adrian --  another important game for Olivet in one of those tricky gyms

Calvin at Kzoo --  always a tough trip for the Dutch twins, much tougher for Calvin this decade.

It is the 21st Century after all and Albion's 13th Century gymnasium has live video

Looks like Calvin fans have numbers here at the Rolla Dome. Maybe a 2-1 advantage?

Is it just me or does it seem like there have been more problems with the refreshing scoreboards this year as compared to the last couple years? The video feeds are nice.

It looks like there is a problem with the audio on the Albion/Hope game.  Thought it was just my computer but others are having problem with it as well.  At least the video works fine...

Calvin up 28-20 over Kalamazoo. 6 minutes left in the first

Hope up 22-18 over Albion. 5 minutes left in the first

Olivet up 17-16 over Adrian

Trine is crushing Alma 33-16

Trine 39, Alma 21 at the half

3 point shooting tells the story: Trine 4-6, Alma 0-13

GoKnights68

Calvin up 40-33 over the Hornets at the half.  Schnyders with 10 points.

Hope up 33-24 at the half.

Ref's just hit Venema of Hope with 3 fouls within 38 seconds. That's tough.
