After the winter sports were complete, it was a dead heat.  Spring sports look like this (I'm just using a +/- based on current standings):

Track (M)* - Calvin +1
Track (W)* - Calvin +1
Tennis (M) - Hope +1
Tennis (W) - Calvin +1
Softball - Hope +1
Baseball* - Hope +3

Cumulative - Hope +2

* - Baseball and track are not yet completed

My calculations on this always seem to be wrong, but Calvin gets to throw out football (always 0 points), Hope has to throw out its lowest sport which will be some kind of point total.

Hope will win the men's, Calvin the women's and Calvin eeks out the Cup by a point or 2.

Does anyone know if Hope has any sort of timetable in mind for interviewing, making a decision and filling the position for Men's bball coach?

Just curious when that process will be done.

All the Dutchmen are currently busy with visitors, scrubbing streets, watering tulips, dancing, and other types of mayhem this week.  Perhaps we will hear some news next week.

The only date thats been mentioned anywhere is the May 1 date to begin the search.  I'm not aware that a deadline date is out there.

You would think it wouldn't take more than a couple weeks though.

thought there would be a chance to know before the end of finals this week, before kids head home, even for a little bit.  Is GVW continuing with the summer camp stuff or is someone else taking over temporarily?  Seems like a lot to take on in such a short period on top of transplanting your family.  Unless of course he already lives in the area...

Mickey DeVries, 6-7 F Lansing Christian is going to Wheaton.  I'm sure some MIAA's had their eyes on him......including Hope.

Word on the street is that he will stay through the camps.  I haven't verified that personally, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm sure this is of interest to some people who read this board.

Kevin Koeman has been named the new coach at Holland Christian.

Mike Phelps continues to show a lot of class in encouraging his former player to take his position after Holland Christian classlessly showed him the door.

Since I don't follow MIAA tennis (but was aware of the streak), I was wondering - in recent years does anyone even give them stiff competition or is the final result a foregone conclusion before the season even starts?

Calvin was very close a couple of years ago, but at the end of the season our best player, who had been considering going pro, got injured. We ended up just losing out to Kazoo.
