They weren't going the NCAA route anyway, but UM-Flint is abandoning the varsity athletics idea for now.

Seeing I am not of the facebook era...........can anyone confirm that Grant Neil's facebook stated this weekend that he will be attending Cornerstone University and not Hope College this fall?

If so, I believe this would eliminate one of the coaching candidates.

I have heard this to be true, regarding Cornerstone, but am not able to verify due to no Facebook account.  Maybe a more techy person could expand and verify.

Very interesting if so........................

i have yet to relay information that someone has asked to remain silent.  If it were to stay in confidence, it would remain there, especially if it were obvious who it came from.  I have never given a name of a current or former athlete, or parent that I have received insight from, at least not knowingly.  I figured the possibility of it coming from any one of 30 players (jv and varsity)  or from any former player would keep it vague enough.  I have plenty of insight as to things that most people connected to the program would like to keep silent-  police reports, drug use, selling of  prescription drugs,  athletes sneaking out of their hotel rooms on away trips to "spend time" with their significant others for the night,  undermining hs programs and their head coaches,etc... that no one wants to have out -current or past. I know things about former players that would put them in jail if there weren't statues of limitations. CM, if you think I'm blowing smoke, try me.

As of 4pm this afternoon, it still says he's going to Hope.

The other schools involved in the Hope coaching search have to be bothered somewhat by the length of time Hope is taking to reach a decision.  A coach hired at Hope now has about 3 months to sell a house and get his family moved.

If another school has to replace their coach it does not give them a lot of time to do a search and get a new person settled.

It's probably a titch unCalvinistic of me to imagine hoopdreams, CM, FDF and sac around the kitchen table for a rollicking night of charades.
But I can't help myself.

Taking a line from State of Michigan Educators (in their recent plea to State Legislators), I would also like to make my plea to fellow posters:
